To trade in or not to trade in?

I currently have a 2022 MG ZS, about 50k on the clock, fully paid off. It runs, most of the time it runs fairly decently. Personally I'm not a fan of the car but I don't feel outright unsafe driving it. It was originally purchased with my brother as the primary driver, but now we no longer live in the same house it's become my primary car.

I'm considering trading it in. I don't have a specific car in mind but probably one of the usual used car suspects (Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mitsubish). No finance, if I can't afford it after trade in I wouldn't get it so I would likely be looking at an older car with more kms.

I'm not the most car savvy, so I'm not sure whether there's better value in trading in the MG now for something more typically reliable as a runaround car, or whether it's smarter to keep running the MG I have until it won't run any more and trading it in at a lower value then?

Trying to prepare in advance for a potential fight with the owner/whether the fight is worth it

Moved into a rental duplex a couple of weeks ago, actually a decent place for the most part. Except for one big thing - the shower floor isn't sloped. Not only is it not sloped, the drain plate actually sits about 3mm above the tile line. Even dragging a squeegee over the thing doesn't drain the water properly, resulting in a fair amount of water just chilling on the grout and tiles at all times. It's never dry. And while I'm not a tradie, even I know that's not a good thing.

When I signed the lease the property manager said outright that the owner was "one of the most difficult owners I've dealt with in 15 years". So I'm trying to figure out whether I have a leg to stand on pushing to get this fixed since I'mnot sure whether this is a requirement to have (i think it is?) a sloped shower, or whether I just report it formally in writing so they can't do me for the eventually water damage that will inevitably result of their inaction.

Any thoughts, opinions or advice appreciated!
