Back when I was a fresh grad at my very first job, I had this stubborn rule: never bring an umbrella because “ang bigat lang sa bag.” 😂

Naturally, the universe decided to humble me on a rainy afternoon.

Wala pang shed sa sakayan ng jeep back then, so there I was, standing by the roadside, getting soaked while trying to figure out how the heck I was going to get home.

Then, out of nowhere, this guy walked up, held his umbrella over me, and simply said, “Share tayo.”

He stayed beside me, making sure I was covered, and even let me board the jeep first.

No grand confession. No exchange of names. No romantic K-drama ending. Just two strangers sharing an umbrella on a cold, rainy afternoon.

But somehow, that tiny gesture made a miserable commute feel warm and special. 🥹

Years later, I still remember it. And now, whenever it rains and I see someone stranded without a payong, I remember my younger self standing there getting drenched, and I instinctively step in and share mine.

Yes, I always bring an umbrella now. 🤗

To that random stranger: you probably don’t even remember doing it, but that small act of kindness stayed with me all these years.

Maybe you thought you were just sharing an umbrella.

But you unknowingly taught me to pass that kindness on. 🤍☔

In this economy, I calculated my retirement fund and it turns out I still need to work overtime up to 7 days post-mortem. 😂

3am musings.

Ugh, Monday again and I'm ready for another round of corporate jargon. Here's what I heard last week:

1. We're building the plane as we fly it.

2. Let me land the plane real quick.

3. Let's not power wash the chandelier.

4. Your audio hasn't left the runway yet.

Girl... I'm on mute. 😂💀

I've heard the word "plane" so many times last week that I'm expecting them to announce my gate number.

Kindly share any corporate jargon I can throw in our meetings. I'm trying to translate "leave me alone" into executive level language. 😩

Ang tagal na ng ulan, feeling ko naubos na namin ang buong *rainy season menu.* 😂

Nagawa na namin ang sopas, champorado, arroz caldo, ginataang bilo-bilo, ginataang tinutong na mais, chicken sotanghon, sinigang, bulalo, nilagang baka, lomi at mami.

Bringhe naman ngayon ang niluluto ni Nanay.

At this point, papunta na kami sa fiesta menu. 😂

Ano pa bang masarap at comforting na lutuin kapag ganitong maulan? Baka may hidden rainy-day recipe pa kayong hindi namin alam! ☔🍲 Stay safe and warm!

This story is ancient, but it still makes me laugh and cringe. I had this childhood crush, our mysterious, super-mailap neighbour. You know the type: barely talks, always looks cool, so naturally I spent years romanticising him. 😂

Then one day, out of nowhere, he messaged me.

"Can we meet? TGIF, Robinsons Galleria. 6 PM."

Excuse me??? Sir???

My delulu brain immediately went:

"OMG... after all these years, he finally sees me as a woman."

So syempre, I got dressed up. Hair done. Outfit on point. Perfume. I arrived at TGIF ready for what I thought was a dinner date.

We met... then after less than a minute he said,

"Labas tayo."

I thought, Wow. Maybe he has something more romantic planned.

Girl... He walked me to the other building.

IT WAS AN MLM PRESENTATION!!!!

I was sitting there in my date outfit listening to someone explain how I could be my own boss, achieve financial freedom, and retire before 30.

Sana nagchat na lang siya : "Open-minded ka ba?" 😭

Why did I have to moisturize, shower (i almost shave you know) and waste a good outfit just to get recruited into a pyramid-shaped love story? 😭😭😭 Never again!! Naglaho yun paghanga ko sa kanya 😭.
