UARS sub and narcolepsy

need to know if i’m the only one who’s been down this pipeline and feels this way.

posted this in the UARS sub since i had heavily explored every single possible issue i could have with my sleeping before my diagnosis of narcolepsy.

I was told in the sub, by the same guy who tells EVERYONE they have UARS for sure via their watch pay home sleep study, that i have UARS, too.

now i feel quite invalidated (in the replies).

would love to hear if anyone else has experienced this kind of denial and gaslighting even in online communities.

an actually negative watchpat

curious if there’s been a watchpat posted here that looks like a true negative for UARS (that isn’t sleep apnea)

I have these deep set windows (probably like 8-10 inches deep). the curtains were put up by my former roommate. i’ve never liked that theres only one panel per window, although she used to center them and put a nice ribbon around the middle so it looked more put together if that makes sense. I don’t like how cluttered they feel, how they don’t reach to the floor, or how they have the tabs on top (i prefer the pocket kind). However i don’t think i’d want the rod to be moved up to the ceiling because we have really high ceilings already and i don’t think i’d like how it looks. I have a few ideas of what i should do and i’d like some opinions!

  1. Replace the curtain panels (two for each window) with a slightly more sheer linen-texture with a more natural bright color. maybe something a bit on the warmer side if i can find the right tone to tie in the warmer colored paintings. the issue is finding the right sized panels and the right texture for a normal price. i might try to buy the fabric and make them myself with a sewing machine.

  2. Tension rod in-window with much more sheet, patterned curtains. Pin them to the sides as needed for natural light. I really like this idea bc i think it will reduce the crowdedness of the room since we don’t have much room to space out the chairs and furniture beyond what we already have

  3. get rid of them all together. i don’t really like this. if we lived on the second floor i’d be super enthusiastic about this but bc of that i kind of prefer the privacy of curtains.

Let me know if you guys have any other ideas for the curtains or this room in general!!! I know it’s a kind of weird color palette but I think i’ve made it work well. I’m also thinking about replacing the super gold frames on the art with a different color but am not sure what would look better. i’d appreciate suggestions with that too!!

hello! apologies for long post ahead.

i have a 2008 honda pilot EX with ~190,000 miles on it. i LOVE this car and want to drive it into the ground. I've noticed a flashing "D" on the dashboard that only comes on after driving for about 10 minutes but sometimes it'll take 30 to come on. There are no other indicators on the dash but the TPMS that i was told just needs to be reset (i fill the them myself, as needed). im an idiot and broke and didnt look up what that meant after about 5000 miles of driving it (over several years, i dont drive it much). I've checked the transmission fluid dipstick, and i think its a little low. its not dark brown in color, but definitely not the reddish pink clear that it should be. its probably 20% darker than the 'light brown semi-transparent' level on this scale. i made sure to check the dipstick while the car was warm and after driving for at least 20 minutes to get an accurate read, but I keep seeing mixed levels when i pull the dipstick. I dont know what im doing wrong lol.

Ive called SO many different places trying to get an opinion or someone to look at it. nobody will touch the transmission due to the high mileage. i wanted to put about 1/2 qt of ATF after a friend finally gave me some advice. i buy the tool i need to reach the plug thing to fill the ATF. i cannot get it open. my dad cannot get it open. nobdoy can get it open. its like impossible to get any sort of movement.

I call auto shops again JUST asking if they'll put fluid in the car for me. NOBODY will do it. I dont want a flush or a drain and refill. just add some fluid. ive kind of given up at this point. but then i ask if i can fill it through the dipstick and people seem to say thats fine. here's the issue: I have no idea how. i cant find a tub or a funnel narrow enough to do it. Since this point.

I also dont think ive noticed any slipping, slow/clunky gear shifting, or anything. no erratic or concerningly high RPMs when speeding up/slowing down. the only thing I think ive noticed (which hasnt worsened or changed much over the last 5k miles) is when i switch to park from drive or reverse, theres a bit shift in the whole vehicle. Our parking is on an uneven surface so i chalked it up to that, but now im questioning if thats a failing automatic transmission. ive looked up symptoms of it, but im confused if "shifting gears" means when the gears shift automatically when chaning speed OR or when i change to drive? im sorry if this is a dumb question i just want to make sure i understand what to look for.

all of this leads me to think its just the ATF. i have FINALLY found an autoshop that will look at the dipstick and add some fluid if its low, since im getting some other work done (leaking CV boot, so axle replacement) now im kind of questioning if adding more will hurt the car the same way some people say changing or flushing the fluid on an old transmission will kill it.

should I go through with this? anyone have a funnel or tube recommendation for filling it myself?? any other ways to identify a failing transmission or am i overthinking it??
