2.0 NC Engine low power

I have an interesting story about a failing 2.0-liter engine that has 160 hp stock crankshaft. I bought it from a guy who had a catalytic converter on it, and I got 175 hp after tuning it with Ecutek. However, on one track day, the catalytic converter failed, and the car ended up on a flatbed truck. He changed the manifold to a 4-1. I bought the car and it only has 160 km on the dyno. In normal use, it doesn't use any oil at all, but after 10,000 miles, it uses maybe 50 ml, but each track day means adding about a liter of oil. In a certain rpm range, 2,000-4,000 rpm, you can hear a ticking sound like the timing belt when the engine is not under load in low gears. It's not audible in 6th gear. The bearing noise is different, very aggressive, and it's just as faint from 15,000 km on. I'm considering a 2.5 swap, but maybe someone else has had a similar problem and maybe just installing a new timing belt or adjusting the valve clearances will help? I estimate that a healthy engine should have around 180 hp.
