Hello- Is there an Iranian community in Ensenada?

Hello- I’m new to the city and country. I went to the Italian Festival yesterday and found the organizers and vendors started out in English. I asked a couple, and they said English is more prominent amongst Montrealers of Italian descent.

Is this accurate? If so, why? Is this common with other diasporas as well?

I’m sorry but I’m almost completely ignorant of the rivalry between francophones and anglophones in Montreal. I watched a documentary about the mass exodus of Anglophones from Montreal, read a book on the history of Quebec, and listened to two men yell at each other about language laws and who really built Montreal for 45 minutes, but I still feel quite ignorant.

Book and film recommendations are welcome.

I love Breaking Points but I have to say after years of listening, their coverage of Mexico and Latin America in general is lacking or very unsophisticated.

I remember a while back Krystal and Saagar couldn’t even list three Mexican states.

Maybe it’s because I’m from a region closer to the border with a predominant Latino population but Mexican and Latin American politics are important to me. I wish they spent a bit more time on it.

I know Mexico well. I know how kind the people are. That said, I also know about the disappearances and extortion. I just want to find a safe place where we can see each other regularly as we wait for the Feds to process everything.

Hello- My girlfriend is a Canadian citizen but had been living in the Persian Gulf area until the war. They won’t let her back into the US right because she can’t show ties to Canada for visa free visits and likely because she’s Iranian.

I’m here trying to help her rebuild her life here until we can secure a fiancée visa and she can move back with me to California(9-18 months).

Since she’s been gone for so long, she doesn’t have an updated credit score or current job. She’s working on the job part.

Do you know if she would be able to get housing given it’s been years since she’s lived in Canada. I’ll be helping her out financially until she finds stable work. We’re looking for a month-to-month roommate situation or furnished studio. Our budget is maxed at about $1100 CAD a month currently.

Hello- I have a 1929 800 square-foot Spanish bungalow and 450 square-foot ADU, both are stucco and need minor stucco repairs. How much do you think getting it painted and the stucco fixed would cost? I’m not looking for a painter right now. Just want to know a ballpark price.
