Starting Out

I’ve been a high school English teacher for 10 years teaching everything from inclusion, retesters, and AP.
My son was born in April and I chose not to return to full time teaching due to my husbands schedule and just generally didn’t love the school I was at (charter).
I’ve thought about becoming a private tutor and working a few days a week but have no idea where to start.
Definitely only English and middle-high school.
Give me the good, the bad, and the ugly.

ExBPSO working as a teacher

My ex recently started working as a sped teacher.

I’ve been a high school English teacher and have taught everything from inclusion to AP for 10 years.
This really makes my heart sink because I feel like working with kids who can’t advocate for themselves is putting them at a disadvantage.
Obviously we aren’t in contact but his dad comes from a family of educators and is all proud of my ex for becoming one as well.

It just honestly makes me sick thinking about those babies, not that they would experience they abuse I did, but not getting the best level of education they can.

I’m 4 months postpartum so maybe I’m just hormonal.

Planning Kids

Baby mil spouse here. We moved 40 minutes away from my hometown for our first year of marriage and we moved to NC while I was pregnant with our first. It was the DITY move from hell and my husband was at a 7 week long course before we moved so packing g was left to me.

We had our first baby in April and his workload had increased and we’re just at a shitty base in general so most of the baby’s care is left to me other than bedtime.

We’re trying to plan for our next baby and originally thought we’d try when our oldest is a year so we can have another before we move again in ‘28. But with all the stress of his upcoming promotion and this base I kind of want to wait till we’re moved and settled to start trying.

The options are basically move with a newborn, move pregnant (not dity this time) or wait till we’re at our new station. Help!
