I'm moving and I need advice!

I'm heading to the USA for university, and while I'm pretty excited, I realised that postal rates are... Not very affordable. Based on the conversion rates, I spend roughly 15 cents on each international postcard, but I believe I'll have to spend close to 2 dollars. Which means I won't be able to send as many cards as I desire, or participate in exchanges similarly :(

But, I'll still be commuting between India and the States once or twice a year, so I think the best course of action is to send cards during that time. But gah! I'll have to look into who receives my mail, etc on my behalf...

And if worse comes to worst, I guess I'll only be sending US mail to longer penpals, and India mail whenever I visit...

Any advice? Oh, and I heard you can get stamps from CVS? Is it true? I'll need all the tips and tricks coming my way!

🐞 Happy postcrossing!

I just came back from my trip to Pune! I visited the philately bureau there, as well: it was beautiful! I purchased some postcards- stay tuned for an offer or exchange soon. I was flooded with mail when I came home.

Due to the huge list, I'll post the individual thanks in the comments!

Hello! I have a beloved pencil case that I would like to mend, but I'm unsure as to how. I can sew by hand (don't have a machine), for reference.

First two images: I don't know how to fix and join the netting to the seam (maybe I can get a piece of cloth underneath and stitch it along the area to prevent more tears?).

Last image: it's completely frayed :( and I have no idea how to go about it.

Help and advice are appreciated! 🐞

This one came in today! Thank you, u/EmployerSpare9921 for the card!

I actually don't like Alphonso mangoes (😭 please don't judge me) because I don't like overly sweet and fiber-y mangoes. My heart will always be with bangnapalli mangoes, forever. My sibling loves Alphonso, though, but we don't get good ones, so we actually go to our grandma's house for those. And for some annoying reason, bangnapalli tastes bitter there :( there's no winning.

Thank you to u/Calm_Channel_4431 and u/employerspare9921 for the cards and mail!

I love the inland letter- I actually sent one to my grandmother for her birthday (it reached today, too)! It's lovely to receive one as well. The stamps are so pretty! My mom has a few, I might ask for those to stamp some of my postcards as well!

To Rahul- thank you for the cards! I'm torn between the RC-I and the Battle of Pollilur, both of them are so beautiful. The artwork is very detailed- the miniature cannons, the armor on the horses.

I'll be moving countries soon, so I'll not be able to receive cards after July, until I set things up from my end. Please be patient- I request you to not send me cards until the end of August when I'll be settled. But I'll be sending a few cards before the end of April! Stay tuned!
