Dig DEEP into your carding supplies this week for some cards that you are ready to let go of to send for this challenge!
Remember, all cards are welcome be they homemade (any skill level), store-bought (with or without your own personalization), or cards you have received from other users.
Please make sure to share a picture of your card(s) as well!
You may post your card(s) in this thread at any time, however, if you wish to be matched with other participants for exchange you need to have posted before July 19. How to display?
Should I display these for the summer? Or save them for the next 4th of July? Right now they're in a plastic envelope. I normally keep cards in a binder but these feel ✨too special✨ to just put in a binder.
How cool is it to bump into someone from here?
Yup. It happened. I bumped into someone from RAoC yesterday, and it’s pretty cool!
I went to my local post office to drop off some of my mail. As I was sorting everything, someone came inside and greeted the staff. After I organized which was which for international and local mail and dropped them into the slot, the person who had just arrived sat on the bench inside and checked how much mail they received from the bundled incoming stack.
I noticed it was an insane amount, definitely a hobbyist, because it was bundled lol! I immediately figured they were probably a member of a Postcard group, this community, or another snail mail hobby group. A memory clicked that I had actually sent mail to someone in this sub with a P.O. Box at my exact local post office, so I assumed it might be them. And when I asked, ding ding ding, I was right!
We shrieked when I introduced myself and literally shared hugs and laughter, until we realized the post office was almost closing and we needed to head out. We spent a little time with me telling them about some recent events and meet-ups in the local Postcrossing group, until we noticed the staff were already heading home. We both had our own plans and errands that afternoon, but we ended up staying at the community mall right in front of the post office instead.
We sat on the benches in the open area of the mall, and once we settled down, they were kind enough to show and tell some of the cards and extra goodies they had just picked up from RAoC and Postcrossing. Meanwhile, they listened to my stories from the recent meet-ups I’ve attended and the people I’ve become friends with in our local Postcrossing community.
Basically, we both really enjoyed seeing your beautiful and creative mail covers and how the stamps were all thoughtfully put together according to their interests and themes. Again, we shrieked when we saw the new Postcrossing stamps and took our time to admire them. We also loved the scratch-and-sniff sticker included in one of the envelopes; we literally sniffed every single one of them hahaha, they smelled so fruity and good!
People here are so generous and thoughtful with all the postcards, extra cards, and letters you send. They mentioned that they’ll be sitting down with their Mom to go through your mail again, one by one. Know that you’re making a lot of people happy with your creativity, generosity, and thoughtfulness.
I pretty much enjoyed randomly meeting someone from this sub and getting to bond on the spot about this beautiful snail mail hobby.
We finally went home and parted ways around 30 minutes before the community mall closed, hahaha! I can’t wait for them to join future local meet-ups. I'm just so grateful for how snail mail literally connects us. 😊
(Not sure if stories like this are allowed here, but I’m happy to share our encounter. Not also sure what flair I should use. Posted with their permission).
I may have a problem...
I was at a musuem recently and found some fun and different postcards. I really wanted more and come to find out the guy who made them use to have a publishing company that is now closed but he still had a huge inventory! Guy cut me a HUGE deal but I had to buy in bulk... so here is 2000 postcards in picture one. I was curious how many all together I have now... well the second picture is my collection not including the new ones. The ones wrapped in blue are my blank ones.... thats about 2500 right there. Then 2.5 of the boxes are ones I made already and the others bought randomly. Needless to say I will not be buying anymore for the foreseeable future and will be doing a lot of offers. This is just postcards, not including folded cards. 🫠

PSA: Blockbuster will be Back on the 17th.
Sorry I haven't made the Blockbuster offer in a couple weeks! Last Friday I was stuck at work, this weekend is a holiday weekend, and next weekend is my wedding anniversary. Good news though, I have about 80 more movie titles to offer next time!
So where does the paper craft addicts (PCA) group meet ? Crafting mess support group, crafting purchase support group, lying about the craft supplies(amount, costs) group, Paper not people support group (those who choose to craft instead of going out), etc etc 🙄
reddit.comMade more cards
This weather has me making cards. I’m trying to to get use out of all my crafting supplies so I took out card stock, fountain pen ink, stamps, and wax seals. I also had the great idea to carve a Spock stamp at 2am. 😅
I'm Moving! (Guide to credo99's Summer Addresses)
I know a few people have asked me for my address and you are waiting for me to respond... Apologies on that as I am moving and traveling over the summer, and I don't get a new PO box until Monday!
If you have my address already, here is a quick guide to what is good and what is not:
Massachusetts address: ❌ (I will have forwarding set up but not until Monday and don't trust my roommates to forward mail to me, sadly)
Texas address: ✅🌅(good as a backup for me until 8/18)
New York street address: ⏸️(only starts being good for me on 8/19, but if I've given it to you already it's OK because you are in a country that takes a while to send mail to me)
New York PO box: ✅ (I will be getting my number on Monday when I show them my ID! I will be in town for a few days and then traveling again so mail might sit around for a bit but it should get there!)
If you need my PO box I will be happy to DM you on Monday :)
Today, July 3 is…
Air Conditioning 🪭Appreciation Day, American Redneck🤠 Day, American Sparkling Wine 🍷 Day, Comic Sans Day, Disobedience Day, Drop a Rock 🪨 Day, Plastic Bag Free Day, Chocolate 🍫 Wafer Day, Compliment Your Mirror 🪞 Day, Eat Your Beans 🫘 Day, Fried Clam 🦪Day, Independent Beer 🍺 Run Day, Stay Out of the Sun ☀️ Day, StartTheConversation Day, and V.I. Emancipation Day!
Outgoing July 3rd!
Made a large offer/exchange in RAoC a few days ago and this was the result! This was so much fun to work on and I’m excited for everyone to get their cards :)
today's outgoing decorated cards ☀🌊🌈🍉
I admit, it's been so hot that I haven't gone to my mailbox in the past couple of days. It does get cooler at night, but I'm silly and scared of the dark...
These are just the prettiest of the nine things I have to send out 😳 The cat card is from the Vintage Cats set by Cavallini & Co, the coloring page is from the Bobbie Goods postcard coloring book, and the other three are from Raspberry Paper.
The '90s girl card does look more decorated, but in my defense, I made that one yesterday, and yesterday me had more creativity (and had just bought a bunch of Sanrio stickers lol). Anyway, I hope these make some people happy!
Today, July 2 is…
Freedom From Fear of Speaking Day, I Forgot 😅Day (actually created for sending belated cards!), Made In The USA 🇺🇸 Day, Anisette 🥃 Day, Disco 🪩 Day, Report Military Fraud Day, Wildland Firefighter 👩🚒 Day, Special Recreation for the Disabled Day, Synesthesia Awareness Day, Thirsty 🍻 Thursday, UFO 🛸 Day, Sports ⚾️ Journalists Day, and Tutors’ Day!
Figured out my preferred layout
Between Tuesday and now I’ve spent about 14 hours working on 42 vertical postcards. I’ve found my preferred layout!! It feels so much easier to complete offers.
Next up to tackle is limiting Google Form responses. I’m pretty sure I’d have no problem doing it on my computer but I prefer my phone for everything.
Curious - exchanging mail preferred process
I’m new and just started last month - I’ve been enjoying sending and receiving mail here on RAoC! Sent out 30 so far and working on my flair.
I prefer posting exchanges so far because I want to send mail, but also receive some happy mail too.
I’m curious, what do you find is the overall preference for exchanges? Do people prefer an immediate exchange or a response once received ? The latter would allow for a nice exchange, and I include my address on exchanges where they don’t reach out for my address.
Curious from long term users what they notice and enjoy!
