[Request] America - The Good, The Bad & The Ugly 🎂🍰🎉🥳🎆🎇 [USA]

I’m sure most of us know today is America’s 250th birthday. I’m sure most of us also have thoughts on our country. Good or bad. Well now’s the perfect time to vent on America. If you have anything to say about the land of the free & the home of rhe brave

I’m writing this from my father’s hospital room while catching up on cards y’all sent me & I’m loving reading everything. It’s a great distraction. Yes you read that right. Less than a week after my mother passed my father is in the hospital. But on the plus side. It can’t possibly get much worse.

Happy 4th y’all!

[Request] Just Winging It! [USA]

Today’s adventure led me to Freehold, NJ & Bradley Beach. Where I saw an old friend. I also hit on a waitress & tried to get her number. FAIL! But still worth it.

Thanks to u/andromeda921 we know that today is chicken wing day. I’ve been thinking of this off & on all day & I’ve wanted to make a request for this before the day ended.

I’ve been to the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY which is the birthplace of the Buffalo wing. When it comes to wings I like dry rubs & crispy, just garlic is plenty for me. How do you take your wings? If you want to talk about wings & how you like them you know the address! And if you don’t just ask.

[Request] Sympathy Cards [USA]

My mother died yesterday, Sunday, morning. My father & I stayed on the phone with her all night. The nursing home put her phone on speaker so I was able to get her old friends to say goodbye to her & my dear friend from Florida was able to pray for her & us over the phone that way. Aside from that we played her favorite music & talked to her all night. My father & I fell asleep downstairs together. Shortly after waking up I heard her take her final breath around 10.

I’m ok ish. Very happy we got to spend the night together that way.

If you feel inclined to send something please do. Doesn’t necessarily have to be sympathy. Feel free to be cheerful.

If you need my address just ask me.

Love & peace!

[Thank You]‘s part one

u/rennbrig - funny you say about the fly over. Far as I’m concerned Armageddon has been every day since the Cheeto took office.

u/doradoodle - I hope to drive Route 66 one day.

u/dreams_child - you’re right. That’s a strange Xmas card.

u/accotinked - I’ve never been to Alaska. My father wants to go on an Alaskan cruise tho so maybe someday!

u/latestartksmama X2 - cool vintage card. It’s gotta be close to 100 years old. Also I have the same problem with buying cards.

u/withininus - I never knew I needed to see Mickey & goofy as astronauts till I got this card.

u/tatergator64 - thanks for the story bout your name!

u/happyhippymom - congrats to your son!

u/radiant-spot-4389 X2 - glad mom likes the card. Thanks for the kind words.

u/thecuriouscur - you forgot a stamp & they still delivered the card!!

u/justpuffpuff_pass - happy pride to you as well!

u/dropofpoison86 - I agree it’s nice not having to fix things in an apartment. I look around the house & just dread thinking about what might break & what it’ll cost to fix.

u/mnghshrohar - beautiful postcard!

u/morenoodles X2 - thanks for your thoughts on driving. The artichoke card is so cute!

u/mollyballsoup - I’d probably try & impress the aliens too.

u/snerdboff - have you ever tried orange swirl applesauce? That’s good too.

u/thefeistyfox - thanks for your thoughts on housing. What’s more common in your country? People living in apartments or houses?

u/pupslace - ordering a card just for me. I feel special.

u/blackberrysimple1730 - I used to subscribe to the New Yorker. I just never had the time to read it. Amazon used to have offers where it was like $5 for the year though so I couldn’t resist. Also I noticed you used a regular stamp. If you’re mailing a lot look into postcard stamps. You’ll save some money!

u/ok_theme7072 - ya know? I don’t think I’ve ever had one of those strawberry eclairs

u/nottheonly85 - I wouldn’t want PA souvenirs either lol

u/sension5705 - perfect design for Americas 250th

u/independentmud2700 - I like Norman Rockwell too.

u/responsibleday - thanks for the drawing of Bob!

u/groceryowl - I’d love to live atop a coffee shop. Do you smell coffee all the time?

u/jdoodle7 - thanks for the flag card.

u/mouserat - I love the sunflower card!

[Request] What’s Your Favorite Ethnic Food? [USA]

Tonight’s adventure took me to a Filipino restaurant & a casino (only lost $20 tho!!). Anyway I had a vermicelli stir fry with pork, chicken, shrimp & vegetables. It was awesome. My father had some kinda roasted chicken. We’re already considering going back on Sunday because they’ll have duck ready to cook by then. I don’t eat duck. My father loves duck though!! He makes duck pastrami & duck prosciutto in addition to other duck dishes.

But the point of this request is I’d love to hear about your favorite ethnic food that you can get locally in a card or a postcard. Specific items or restaurants or just foods you love about the culture in general. I like Mexican (TB is good. But I prefer authentic) & Asian foods, particularly Chinese, I know what most of us get out isn’t traditional Chinese food but Chinese food is special to me. Chinese food was always the thing to get for comfort during times of sadness or in times of happiness or when sick. Basically if anything significant happens here we order Chinese food & it’s always the same thing. I have ordered beef & broccoli almost every time for 36 years now. Shrimp toast too.

If you wanna send me something & need my address let me know. Eventually you’ll probably get something back from me. But my mother’s time left is measurable in days & I want to read about food & eat food & run all around the area & ignore reality as much as possible & if I’m not at home I’m doing a good job ignoring reality. Healthy coping mechanisms? What’s that? 😂

Owner Of Ice Cream Shop In Lititz, PA Had Car Vandalized

The owner is a POC.

This is the text on the post. Are we winning yet?

“This isn't an easy post to make, but we've exhausted our immediate options and are now asking for the community's help.

Around 11:33 PM on June 6, my personal vehicle was vandalized at my home. Shortly after the incident, an unidentified individual rang my doorbell. Police responded that night and documented the damage.

At this time, we don't know if this individual was directly involved or simply happened to be there, but he is currently our best lead. Unfortunately, nearly three weeks have passed, and we have not received any significant updates in the investigation.

If you recognize this individual or have any information that could help identify him, please send us a private message. Any information you provide will be passed directly to the police.

As a thank you, if your information leads to the identification of this individual, I'd be happy to reward you with a 3-gallon bucket of Greco's Homemade Ice Cream or Italian Ice.

**Please do not contact, harass, or threaten anyone you think this may be.** We are simply looking for information so law enforcement can do their job.

I also want to address something that's been circulating. I was born and raised in Lititz, and Greco's has always been about bringing people together. We welcome everyone who treats others with kindness and respect, and that will never change.

While this incident occurred shortly after Lititz Pride, and we did receive a handful of negative comments about our support (and our amazing pride flight), we have absolutely no evidence that those events are connected. We don't want anyone making assumptions or targeting the wrong people.

Greco's will continue to be a place where everyone is welcome, and we remain committed to treating everyone with kindness and respect.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you to everyone who shares this post in hopes of helping us identify this individual.”

So I have an offer going on the main page, r/randomactsofcards. I’m sending out blank colorable national parks cards in an envelope. When you receive the postcard you’re going to color it in & post it here with your state. My goal was to show people how others color across the country & have a way for all of us to see the results. I still have some blank postcards to send out. If you’d like one & want to participate in this offer please go here to sign up!

Mod of this group knows what’s going on & is ok with this project of mine. Thanks mod!
