I built a free app for pig, cattle and poultry farmers
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a small personal project I’ve been working on.
I’m a swine veterinarian working on pig farms in Germany, and I originally built this app for myself and my colleagues to make everyday work a bit easier. Over time it grew into something I thought others might find useful too.
-News
-Market snapshot
-Tools (light and sound quality estimation, water flow, FCR etc)
-Calendar for recurring tasks
-Notes
Google has just approved it on the Play Store. 🎉
At the moment it’s available only on Android. An iPhone version is planned, but Apple development is significantly more expensive, so it will take a little longer.
The app will stay free for quitez a while because my main goal right now is to collect feedback and ideas from people who actually use it.
If you have a minute to try it, I’d really appreciate any suggestions for features or improvements.

Pool fail.
He stuck his nore in the cold water, and I splashed him a bit. And figured he was wet enough to roll in the dirt.
Baby potbellies needing homes.
Hello. We helped out someone who's mother passed and left her pigs but they didn't want to keep them, so now we have 5 babies who need good homes, and posting here I know they will be pets and we don't have to worry about them becoming food.
They are 7 weeks old currently, (born on May 19th) and there are 4 boys and 1 girl. The boys are intact.
We are located near Kaufman, Texas, if anyone would be interested in becoming a new, caring piggie parent, or know someone who would.
They are (mostly) potty trained for a litter box (they do well but still have the occasional accident) and played with daily. They will eat out of your hand.
Pig question for the pig experts out there
I love pigs. And I'm aware they're considered more intelligent than dogs. My question - how have pig owners out there witnessed this intelligence in ways that WEREN'T solely food-motivated? Are pigs curious about things that aren't food (as dogs are)? Do they have ANY motivation to use their smarts for stuff that doesn't involve food? The idea of an animal being SO smart but having zero interest in anything but constant eating is hilarious (and kind of endearing) to me.
How do pigs normally react if you come up to it while it's sleeping? Do they like the company or not?
I just want to go up to a pig and snuggle next to it. Still I'm not entirely sure how it will react but they're so big and cuddly looking that I can't help but feel affecionate!
Friends?
Tusker doesn't seem to hate them anymore and the white nanny doesn't try anything. Not feeding them together and they have separate pens
