I’ve been gone for 5 days and missing my pig (he’s with a sitter)

My son got married at the beach and this is the longest I’ve ever been away from my boy/soul pet/ son. He’s doing fine overall but not enjoying his time being lonely because our entire family is out of state. The sitter has kept him on a schedule but I’m sure he misses the cuddles, love, snacks etc. I know he’s like where the hell is my mom. The next time I go on vacation I’ve already let everyone know I won’t be traveling without my pet. I can’t explain our bond but he’s mine and I’m his. Period.

I just got prescribed estrogen patch, and progesterone for awful peri symptoms! Tell me what I should expect!?

I’ve been in the throes of perimenopause for around three years and the symptoms are horrible. I finally found a prescriber that will prescribe me H RT. For those of you who have taken HRT what should I expect?

Anyone feel like they’re moving when you aren’t?

I’ve noticed a few times I’m sitting still in traffic and the car beside me goes to move and it makes me feel like I’m rolling backwards and this has just started since all the perimenopause symptoms started a couple years ago. Also get like really dizzy while driving at high speeds and have histamine intolerance because of the estrogen drop.

This week was pure hell

Wiggy got extremely sick on Friday out of nowhere. He was running a fever, wouldn’t eat or drink, wouldn’t get up, just laid for hours trembling. I had to go out of town Saturday so my adult son came over to check on him while I was gone and gave him pedialyte in a syringe and some infants Tylenol. By Sunday morning shit had got really bad and I knew it was a medical emergency. I started calling every vet within a 50 mile radius. I couldn’t find a single one that would see him on an emergency visit unless we were an “established client”. A few of them referred to the same local emergency clinic so I called them and they wouldn’t see him either. I finally found a vet about 20 miles away that would see him. He got an IV and three shots. Two were antibiotics and one was anti-inflammatory. He’s finally feeling better today. We almost lost him. If you own a pet pig make sure you have established vet care in the case of an emergency or they literally won’t see you. It sucks and I was angry, like he’s my pet just like someone with a dog or cat. I’m thankful we found one that would see him but it was a lesson learned moving forward.
