Suggestions for 24 hour layover in Phoenix?

We will have a 24 hour layover in Phoenix in early December, arriving around 7am one day and departing around 8am the next day. Suggestions for where to stay that offers day rates or early check-ins? We will have flown overnight so trying to catch a good nap when we get there then something to do in the afternoon and for dinner. Will not be renting a car so will need Uber or other transport. Thanks!

2023 Outback: “regular” 4 cylinder or turbo/boxer 4?

Looking at both options. Have read that the boxer 4 is much peppier- but requires more attention to maintenance where oil is concerned. Thoughts? Thx!

Easy ribs?

Still new to my Recteq Patio 400 and looking for easy no-fail ribs to make next weekend. I have stuck with chicken and flank steak this far and won’t have time to test in advance of serving them to friends/family :) so looking forward for easy but delicious methods for cooking g ribs. Thanks in advance!

Planned layover HNL to RIC?

Planning a trip late this year from RIC to HNL. On the return flight, is there a way to intentionally lay over for a night on the way back (just to help with jet lag)? For instance. HNL to LAX, stay overnight then LAX to RVA- can that be booked as one ticket, or does each leg have to be booked separately? Is it something I can book myself online? Thx

A1C vs fasting glucose?

For the last 3-4 years, my fasting glucose has always been exactly 102. It may have dropped to 99 once, but generally 102. My A1C has varied between 5.4 and 5.9 but generally around 5.8. Does that correlate correctly to my 102 fasting glucose? (It doesn’t seem to but I’m not terribly knowledgeable on the topic). Thoughts?

2008, 180k miles transmission?

Daughter’s (23) 4Runner is a 4th gen, 2008 with 180k miles. About 2 years ago, she has a slight shudder- had transmission drained and refilled with shudder fix added. Problem went away. Shudder has come back, more pronounced now moving from around 25mph to 30mph- otherwise no shudder.

Local transmission shop says he’s not sure it’s the transmission but thinks it is. $6k to replace with an early July timeframe. I have questioned the torque converter- he quoted $1600 but if it still needs a new transmission, it’s still another $6k.

What should she/we be looking at when making this decision? Second opinion? Any way to understand if any other (expensive)problems may exist or could be revealed by a code reader? She adores her car- but $7k is a lot for an almost-20 year old car. Turning to the brain trust for thoughts and suggestions. Thx 😊

Advice needed: 1,500 pair (many vintage) of salt and pepper shakers

Location: Long Island NY: My in-laws have recently passed and my mother in law collected salt and pepper shakers. Guessing about 1,500 pairs. Most in excellent condition- starting around the 1950’s until perhaps early 2000’s. We will be preparing to sell the house and need to empty it out. Any suggestions of how to find collectors - or anyone we could reach out to for advice? Thx!
