Avere da + infinitive vs dovere

Hello,

As the title suggests, in an informal causal conversation setting among family or friends is it ok to use avere da + infinitive to express need to do something

I heard it among my grandparents when they were speaking.

Is this common ?

My grandparents speak dialect and are from south Lazio

Also wouldn’t mind the history on this as well even if it’s not common spoken

Thanks in advance

Italian Passive - informal Italian

Hello i need help with the passive in Italian

I know the main ways to convey the passive meaning si, venire, essere etc but my grandparents who speak dialect says it’s not what’s actually used in conversation.

They use the 3rd person plural for example

The bread is made in Rome - il pane, lo fanno a Roma.

Chiudono le porte alle 8 - the doors are closed at 8pm

Mi hanno invitato - I was invited

La pizza, l’hanno consegnata 3 ore fa

Can anyone please explain this further and how they use this active sentencing to convey the passive meaning in English

In having a hard time because they don’t even know about si passive they only know si impersonal

Thank you!

Venire to convey the passive meaning

Hello ,

How common is this in everyday speech I was speaking with my grandmother I notice she used it quite a bit.

Wondering also if people can break down the function of venire like this

Also for my grandmother

Born in 40’s southern Lazio very limited schooling

Word order on si passive sentences

Hello,

As the title suggest does it matter or change anything in informal causal conversational speech to have si at the start or middle of the sentence

For example

This door is closed first then the other

Si chiude questa porta prima, poi l’altra

Questa porta si chide prima, poi l’altra

Is there a difference what would actually be said in real conversation not text book

Thank you,

Are my grapes dead ?

Hello,

As per the title suggests will these grapes catch.

I planted last fall and they went through a winter.

It is spring but still under 5C during night/early morning.

They feel sturdy in the ground. Wondering if they will catch

Hello,

Needing some clarification for fare + infinitive and when to use pronouns

From my understanding

If there there is no object it’s direct

Lo faccio leggere - I make him read

And there’s an object

Gli faccio leggere il libro

If someone can help out with this and direct me to the with path

Also a question with fare and have something done by someone

I’ll have the car fixed by my dad

Faccio aggiustare la macchina da mio padre

Is this correct

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I was talking to my Nonna today and she was making gnocchi with some old potatoes and she said

Le patate vanno a male se no le uso

Now I know in English we would say something to go bad but does it work in italian

I’m assuming yes since my nonna said it but I’m not sure if it’s dialect or not

If you can explain using andare like this please and thank you

Thank you ,
