Guy pissed in the room

So at this hostel in Prague, last night, this one dude came back drunk from a night out around 2am. Made a bit of noise but nothing out of the ordinary and went to bed. I went back to sleep but after about 2 min he got up again, walked to the middle of the room, pulled down his underwear and started to pee. At first I thought I was having a nightmare lol but then I realised it was real, I couldn't believe it. Once he was done he just went back to bed and left a puddle of piss. I got dressed, went downstairs and talked to reception. They came to the room, also shocked, and were nice enough to put me in a new room. They said he will probably get kicked out but I didn't get the chance to see the outcome.

The guy in question, checked in yesterday and said it was his first solo travel and first time staying in a hostel. He even asked me if I had any tips, asked about hostel etiquette and what he should or not do. So I guess this was one hell of a first time to him, I'm glad there were no women in that mixed dorm

Just wanted to share this here, this never happened to me before.

Selling my Steam Deck OLED 512GB

Price: 500 euros/or equivalent in CZK

I bought it this year back in March to play some specific games and now that I'll be returning home to my home country in a few weeks it won't have any use for me. I have a good gaming desktop waiting for me at home and this steam deck has served it's purpose for me. It's in perfect condition, no scratches and it comes with it's original case and cables. I bought it from Alza

Just keep in mind they sent me a UK charger when I bought it but there's an EU adapter in it so it won't be an issue.

Not sure I can even announce things like this in here but if you're interested send me a DM and I can share pictures, more details and we can eventually meet somewhere in Prague if you want to test it before buying it. The price is 500 euros or the equivalent in czk. For extra 50 euros I can add two Bluetooth Xbox controller and my hdmi cable that I also bought from Alza to play some games connected to the TV.

Sorry if this is not allowed here, go ahead and remove it, Admin. But if a local can tell me where I can sell this kind of stuff in Prague that would be much appreciated too.

Thank you

Gentlemen, please wash yourselves, wash your clothes and buy yourself a deodorant before using public transportation

You don't have to wear an expensive perfume but at least wash yourself properly daily, wash your clothes and don't be afraid to wear a deodorant too. It's not expensive, you can get pretty cheap ones at DM and just by doing these basic things, everyone else in the public transport will thank you and if you have a lady, she will thank you too.

The number of guys stinking in the public transport is so bad I'm thinking about buying a car these days.

Clean up yourselves, take a bath at least once a day, wash your clothes properly and be a bit more considerate of others. It really sucks to have to travel near your stinking ass. I understand if you're homeless but if you're not then no excuse.

Loud neighbours

I've been living in Prague for a while and it's the first time I encounter some loud neighbours and I'm wondering what should I do. I'm around Prague 7 and the neighbours in question I think are new, but this is the fourth night in a row that I hear loud music coming from their apartment. I knocked on their door the first night and asked politely if they could keep it down, they told me to f off in their native language. They don't know this but I can understand their language perfectly since I'm from Latin America, they're from Spain, I know their accent too well even though Spanish is not my native language. And their culture, just like mine, people are usually loud and do shit like this but this ain't Spain or Latin America

Loud noise is something that pisses me off a lot, I really hate people who do this. I do my best to keep it down and not bother anybody and I expect the same level of respect. And no wonder many locals hate foreigners here, while I'm here being respectful I see these assholes doing that.

My intrusive Latino thoughts tell me to do something that would 100% land me in jail so I'll avoid that :) so what should I do?

Call the police? Do they even come for this sort of thing?

PID pass

I've been using the pass for a few months now living in Prague and today my phone died while I was about to leave the tram on the way home. There was no inspection but I wonder now how can I prove I have the pass if for some reason the app doesn't work or my phone dies again? Is there a receipt or something I can download?

Hello there, not sure if this is the right sub for this question but I live in Prague so I'm asking here, apologies if this isn't the right place. I'm originally from Brazil and have been living in Prague for a while. Czech and Portuguese are quite different languages and I've been struggling a lot to learn. Currently I'm taking a Czech course in Prague 7 and also doing some online classes but I feel stuck. Lucky for me I work for a company that doesn't require Czech at all, but at the same time I want to learn to integrate better and also not have to rely on English when I'm out of my comfort zone.

My partner is Czech so it does help but she usually does the talking when things get hard for me. I'm already confident when ordering things at shops and restaurants and I can even understand the tram/metro announcements 😅 ( I was so happy and proud when I could, I know it sounds silly if you're Czech 😂). But I feel stuck and also not very motivated. As much as I like the language, no disrespect but I've been a bit disappointed with it, mostly with my progress.

Most Czechs I encounter are very understanding and helpful when they see that I'm at least trying, also we live in an area that I'm probably the only foreigner around so I do exchange a few words with our neighbours but very limited.

I want to improve, I'm not so happy with my progress and think I could be doing a lot better by now.

Also I'm a bit of an introvert, I'm usually very reserved so I don't know many people apart from my girl and some of her friends. I believe that once I'm better at speaking Czech I can engage better with the locals and maybe even make friends.

Any tips?

Thank you
