questions for accountancy students

hi everyone! the deadline for the acceptance of my sit accountancy offer is approaching and i’m still very uncertain about whether i should accept it or go with my ntu mathematical science offer…so i hope that some accountancy seniors can provide answers to the lingering questions i have!

  1. is it difficult to make friends in accountancy

  2. given the large cohort in previous years, are students split into different groups to attend the same classes

  3. how challenging is the trimester system specifically for accountancy students

  4. how often are there group and individual projects and what are they usually about

  5. what do accountancy students usually do for their capstone project

  6. if i do accept the offer, should i purchase an ipad, macbook or both for the course; are there any brands which is more suitable than apple?

how beneficial is IWSP?

i was looking through some reddit posts about choosing between sit and ntu because i am facing the same dilemma right now (sit accountancy vs ntu mathematical science). a lot of the responses favour ntu and the reason is mainly because of the brand name and prestige which can make it easier when applying for internship and full time jobs. but i don’t see a lot of people bringing up the IWSP and the potential to convert it into a full time job. i know that ntu also has compulsory internship but from what i understand it’s shorter than the IWSP. so i would like to know how beneficial will the IWSP for securing a job upon graduation?

how to find out if my offer is conditional?

hi everyone! a little backstory, i withdrew at the beginning of sec 4 and did international o-levels and a-levels as a private candidate. consequently, i did not really interact with my mother tongue (chinese) so i seriously lacked functional literacy... i received my sit offer about a week ago but there was no indication on whether or not it is conditional. i've called the admissions office last friday and i was told that there was not mention of failure to meet any requirement. still i was advised to email the admissions office but i have received no response yet. i'm going to call them again tomorrow but it will be really helpful if anyone can let me know if sit gives out conditional offer!

ps i'm a fellow singaporean : )

question about spms orientation

hi everyone! i just received my offer for mathematical science yesterday and i’m intending to accept it. the offer letter stated that the academic year commence on 20 july but i saw on the ntu website that faculty orientation is from 4-7 august so is there an orientation before 20 july or do freshmen start their classes after their faculty orientation?

also if anyone is entering mathematical science or spms, do pm me! let’s befriend each other :)

as the title suggested, i overhead my parents talking my university applications, specifically about how i had received no offers yet despite attending an interview two weeks ago at SIT. i am also panicking but i know response can take time and i have made peace with pursuing the private university option if i receive no offers. however, hearing my mum talking about how her friends' kids and my cousin had received their offers and comparing me with them had completely demoralised me. this is actually nothing new, my mum had always supported me less in private than she present in public and comparisons with others of my age is always a topic on the back of her mind. yet, hearing this had left me feeling especially powerless and hurt in this extremely nerve-wracking period
