I'm looking for a Muay Thai Gym in the Bangkok Phrom Phong area. I'm looking for a legit gym and am willing to spend on quality of training. The only other requirement is that it needs to qualify for a DTV, as I want to return to Thailand frequently.
I have a vintage Omega I want to get back up and running. Does anyone have a recommendation for a repair shop in Bangkok, not just a battery kiosk? I'm probably going to sell it, so I don't want to put too much money into it. (Not doing a full factory restoration.)
(Cross-Posting for discussion.)
Yes, it is true that watches are jewelry, I only ever hear it when someone is administering a large dose of copium, or as a Chewbacca defense to discredit a take they don’t like.
You will never convince rep fans that they are deluding themselves. Their self worth is tied up in a social hierarchy of wealth flexing.
They legitimately think their rep gains them status. Calling out anything, no matter how true, is an attack on their own personal wellbeing. People always double down when they feel attacked.
I cannot stand solid polymer straps (rubber, foam, resin, silicone.) They look cheap. They feel cheap. They stick to my wrist, and they last a couple of months of serious wear.
I understand that bracelets don’t work with everything, and leather shouldn’t get wet. In those situations, I spring for a fabric strap. Yes, nylon is a polymer, but it’s fibrous. It will last far longer than a rubber strap. It feels nice on the wrist, and it can be woven into attractive patterns.
Solid polymer straps were the mark of a cheap digital watch, but now, even luxury brands are offering them on $10,000+ watches. It doesn’t elevate solid polymer to luxury status, it just makes the brand a seller of cheap plastic.
They are 80% chunky plastic. The displays are too small and very cluttered. I get that they are incredibly engineered from a spec perspective, but part of engineering is clear usability. Speaking of usability, don’t get me started on any model that has the light button doing double duty.
I give them a seven out of ten. Good value, but leaves something to be desired.
If anyone shares the opinion, then it is ice cold. If no-one shares the opinion, then it is a stupid take.
If you post crap like this, then the Sangria was way stronger than you bargained for.
I somehow wrecked my old Casio, and now I am in the market for a good digital outdoors/gym watch. What are people’s thoughts on the digital Expeditions? Are they still rugged little beasts, or has Timex’s QC gotten to them too?
You name the brand, someone will tell you why it’s douchy. If you say that you don’t have a favorite brand, you are a pretentious liar.
The only way to not be douchy is to throw away your watches, get off Reddit, strip off your clothes, and run naked into the woods.
