How many months will it take for a chronic fissure to heal properly using cream?

My doctor said it will take 6 months for the fissure to heal completely and for the skin in that area to become mature and elastic. He explained that the fissure takes 2 months to heal without tearing again, and another 4 months for the skin to regain its strength. I no longer feel any pain or see blood during bowel movements, but he still advised me to continue taking stool softeners, applying the cream, and taking sitz baths. Why do chronic fissures take so long to heal?

Is there anyone here who took a drop year for MBA CET preparation but still couldn't get a good score or a good college this year?

I appeared for MBA CET in 2025 and scored 92 percentile. Since I was aiming for top colleges, I decided to take a drop year. This year, I scored 97 percentile in my first attempt and 98.7 percentile (151 marks) in my second attempt.

I was hoping to get into SIMSREE, but now it seems unlikely. I'm not even sure if I'll get PUMBA, as the last-round cutoff for the General category was 99.38 percentile last year, and it may increase this year.

I also feel that PGDM programs are quite expensive compared to the average packages offered after graduation.

Another issue is that JBIMS MSc Finance requires at least 60% in 12th grade, and my 12th marks are below 60%, so I couldn't consider that option. Because of this, I didn't appear for CAT either.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

I don't know why people's from IITs, NITs, and other top engineering colleges prepare for banking exams in the first place.

I know everyone has a right to do anything in this country, but these people already have a lot of opportunities. They can easily get a 10+ LPA job in the private sector simply by adding their college name to their resume, or they can get a PSU job through the GATE exam. They also have those options, whereas we are preparing for bank exams because we don't have any other option. These people will only increase the competition and waste more seats. Engineers from top colleges should not be allowed to take banking or SSC exams in the first place

Wasted a year of my life because of this stupid exam.

I don't know, man. What should I do? I scored almost 151 and still only got a 98.89 percentile in attempt 2. In 2025, at this score of 150, people would have at least got JBIMS in the 3rd round or easily made it into SIMSREE.

Is massive weight loss during a fissure caused by eating less, or is there another reason

I have lost almost 8 kg in 4 months due to a fissure. Because of the pain, I am avoiding eating too much, eating very little, and drinking a lot of water. I also stopped exercising, except for a 2 km morning walk, and I have almost entirely stopped eating non-vegetarian food. I take laxatives at night after dinner. I am very worried about this weight loss. Can anyone please provide a proper diet plan?

So, do the majority of people who got an anal fistula here have a history of anal fissures before developing the fistula?

I have been dealing with an anal fissure for three months and I am worried it might turn into an abscess or a fistula. Does a fissure cause a fistula? I am really anxious about it. My doctor recommended laser surgery, but I consulted another specialist who said it isn't major and doesn't require surgery. The second doctor said that with a proper fiber diet and cream, it will heal within three months. Does laser fissure surgery carry any risk of causing an abscess or a fistula? I don't know what I should do.

Chronic fissure tears up after 1 month of healing. Feeling so defeated.

Hey everyone, I just need some hope today because I feel completely lost.

I’ve been dealing with a chronic fissure. For the past 4 months, I was doing everything right—high fiber, daily stool softeners, and using my cream. My pain was almost gone for a month and my sentinel skin tag had finally shrunk.

Yesterday, I had a very high-stress day. Even with the stool softener, the stress made my stool hard this morning.

Now, the pain is back (a dull ache) and the skin tag instantly swelled up again. There is no blood, but mentally I feel like I am back at square one. It feels so unfair that one bad day can ruin a month of hard work.

I immediately applied my cream and I'm doing warm sitz baths.

Has anyone else had a flare-up like this after a month of healing? How long did it take for the sudden swelling and pain to calm down again?
