Gear Up for Plug Power (PLUG) Q2 Earnings: I'm not excited about this.

In times of soaring energy demand and the massive build-out of data centers, I honestly expected a bit more.

If Plug wants to achieve a positive EBITDA, we should already see significant improvements in Q2. However, the following points concern me somewhat:

  • Total revenue is expected to decline slightly (-3.6%).
  • Sales of electrolyzers and other equipment remain weak (-16%).
  • Hydrogen sales are expected to be roughly flat to slightly lower (-3%).

What do you guys think?

Buying the dip?

The stock has fallen 45% since May 28. I haven’t seen any particularly negative news over the past few months, and I’m considering buying some more shares.
Why do you think the stock has dropped so much? Is there a specific reason behind the decline, or is it simply moving in line with the strong results reported by Bloom Energy and FuelCell Energy?
