Next up with Plaud Intelligence: Skills and Routines.

A Skill saves how you want a task done: sections, tone, detail, output. Pick a ready-made one, describe your own, or upload a template. Plaud Agent follows it every time. Skills go beyond summaries: a finished report, a contract risk check, a research brief. Your Summary Templates are not affected and keep working as before.

AutoFlow becomes Routines. A Routine is set once in plain language and runs on its own. "Every Monday at 9:00, summarize last week's meetings and list what is still open." It triggers on conditions, not only a schedule: "When a specific keyword is mentioned, move this recording into a specific project." Existing AutoFlow automations do not carry over, so recreate them as Routines (a few minutes each).

Together, a Routine runs your Skill for you. Every client call ends with the debrief in your format, without you asking.

Hey u/everyone! We want to talk to you directly about what's coming at launch, and it's a big step up from what you're used to.

As some of you may have heard, Ask Plaud now has agentic capability, we're calling it Plaud Agent and it can produce finished documents for you.

That upgrade runs on a rebuilt Knowledge base. It's organized two ways: by Time (Today, Yesterday, This Week) and by Events (everything tied to a specific client, project, or case, grouped together). That's how you actually recall conversations anyway, by when something happened and what it was about, not by folder names.

Your existing recordings aren't going anywhere. They carry over automatically and show up in the Time view.

The reason this structure matters: when you ask Plaud Agent a question inside a Time or Event view, it only works within that context, not your whole history, so the answer comes back tighter and more accurate.

Today is a pretty big day for us: we just introduced Plaud One Explorer Edition.

Plaud started with a simple idea: some of the most valuable information in our lives happens in conversation, and too much of it gets lost.

Plaud Note and NotePin helped us capture and understand those conversations. Now, with more than 2.5 million people using Plaud, we're exploring what comes next.

We believe the agent era needs a new kind of interface. We typed on keyboards. We tapped on screens. In the agent era, we’ll simply speak.

Plaud One is our first step toward that future: wearable AI built to capture the conversations you choose, understand the context and intent behind them, and help turn what was said into action.

Something we keep hearing from people building on top of PLAUD: the model side of a conversation product is mostly figured out. The capture side is still where things fall apart.

The short version:

Phone and laptop recording works fine in a quiet room with a user who remembered to hit record. It breaks down almost everywhere else. Unlock, find the app, start recording, keep the screen from sleeping, and by the time that's done the first two minutes of the conversation are already gone. Battery drains, connectivity drops, and mic placement ends up being wherever the phone happened to be sitting.

Dedicated hardware takes most of that off the table. One press, a multi-mic array, and a transcription stack tuned to the specific device sending the audio rather than to "whatever phone this is." We ran word error rate against Apple's across a range of signal-to-noise ratios and came out lower at every level, with the gap widening as the room got noisier. Standard caveat that this is our own benchmark on our own hardware, so read it as directional.

What we're more curious about is how any of this maps to what other people are building:

If you've shipped something that depends on conversation data, what share of your users actually record consistently, and what did you do about the ones who didn't?

Is capture hardware something you'd want to own, or something you'd rather integrate once and stop thinking about?

As a part of launch week, we wanted to showcase one of our design partners PatientQ.

Ryan at PatientQ works with Medspas to help them save staff time and acquire new patients. He wanted to capture deeper insights from conversations between clinic staff and patients. Ryan rolled out a mobile app with Plaud Embedded, so that the clinic staff could use Plaud NotePins S's with their PatientQ app. The first pilots Ryan ran helped his customers convert 30% more leads. Needless to say, both Ryan and his users were ecstatic.

Ran into something counterintuitive while testing our recorder's audio pipeline: noise-suppressed audio (the kind that sounds "clean" to your ears) often transcribes worse than rougher, unprocessed audio.

Turns out noise suppression smooths the signal to sound pleasant, but that smoothing wipes out fine details in speech that AI models rely on to tell words apart. In noisy rooms, we saw transcription accuracy drop 4-5% on the "cleaner" audio.

So we stopped treating audio as one output. Now playback gets the noise-suppressed version (sounds nice), and transcription gets a separate, less-processed signal that keeps the detail intact. In testing, that came out to a 23.4% error rate in a noisy room vs. 30.3% on an iPhone recording, even though the iPhone audio sounded better subjectively.
