I've made the frontpage before, but I have never received so many spammy messages as I have this week about podcasting. What is it about this community that attracts so many con-artists?

Podcast creators who've made it past 100 episodes: what finally convinced you to make a big change (or quit)?
Was it stagnant downloads? Burnout? Lack of audience engagement? Something else?
Looking for advice from people who've actually been through it.
Long story short, are there any Riverside alternatives that don’t suck?
I’ve had three interviews now go bad because of their software.
First one: someone got a call on their phone. Arguably my bad, but also, maybe build something into the software for when someone gets a call on the device everyone still uses as, you know, a phone.
Second one: the audio was terrible the whole time. It would sound good for a few seconds, then go to shit, even though it sounded fine while we were recording.
This last one: two-thirds of the way through, it just dropped out and went black. During the interview there was a slight glitch, then it came back immediately, so I thought we were fine.
Apparently not.
So seriously, what are the Riverside alternatives that actually work?
