Fairly new Anno player here (only played 1400 a bit in the past, couldn't really get warm with 1800 yet, but 117 has me hooked). Why did no one tell me that taking over and conquering an island in Anno 117, basically destroys the whole economy? I just took over an island after training lots and lots of troops and buying ships, almost going in debt. And once I managed to acquire the island, 90% of the production chains stopped working, over 1k unhappiness, negative workforce, and more. I had to pause them all because so many production chains didn't work. Like, how did this NPC keep such a strong economy? There was one resource she couldn't get on the island. That's also causing a lot of stops on the production chains. But I kind of managed now and I will go through them one by one and check where I can get the other resource.

Unfortunately, the volcano is about to erupt again. Also, was it foolish, wanting to conquer the biggest and economical strongest island? Maybe. But it was lots of fun.

I am fairly new to the game, got it like 3 days ago during the sale, but I am already hooked.

I saw that Caecilia sells specialists that can give your island the fertility of a resource, it doesn't have and I am already using some purple ones that she had. I have also tried and look online about some explanation, so I know that they are bound to resources naturally available in either Latium or Albion.
However, I do not understand, how these specialists on green or blue rarity would work, with only 50% and 75% feritlity. I tried using a blue specialist with 75% goldmineral fertility, but the gold pit did not start producing at all... then I checked to get higher productivity, eventually got it to like 80%, but the gold pit still didn't start to produce.

I figured that the purple and gold specialists give me the resource on my island guaranteed I guess, but how would I make the lower rarity ones work?
