2009 Ford Transit. I’ve just got an old van to start my new business and it’s been a big adjustment. Unfortunately, three weeks in, I underestimated the turning circle and scraped the side door on a wall pulling into a tight driveway. It’s dented, but still functions. But now it thinks the side door is open all the time. It shuts, and locks, but I’ve clearly damaged the sensor somehow. I’ve had to unplug the lights in the back because they wouldn’t turn off.

Is there a kludge fix? Or do I need to bite the bullet and take it to a mechanic? This van was supposed to be my livelihood.
