What if YTTV Had a Dedicated Remote and RSN Package?

Stick with me here..

Hypothetically speaking, let's say that YTTV introduced a dedicated remote for their streaming app as well as an RSN package beginning tomorrow.

With both YTTV and DTVS respectively keeping everything else relatively the same as they are today (price, channel lineup, packages, picture quality, ad-ons, etc.), on a scale from 1-10, how inclined would you be to make the switch from DTVS to YTTV?

Sports Pack Promo

I saw this morning that there is a free Sports Pack promo until 7/25/26. I signed up for it just now and then went to cancel it to ensure I didn't forget on 7/25/26 and begin being billed $14.99 a month. I am on the Entertainment package. Is this something everyone who subscribes to DTVS received? This is my first time seeing this promo.

Also, when I went to cancel it (it states that the channels will still be available until 7/25 even if you cancel today) I received an offer for $5 off for 6 months. I've never seen this type of offer either. I did not accept or decline the offer. I just closed out of the box for the time being.

If I decline the offer, is there a better offer that follows? Or is that the only offer available?

Question: How Many of You Would Drop The Gemini/Gemini Air if Not for the Remote?

Simple question as above; If it weren't for the DTVS remote, how many of you would dump the Osprey and Gemini Air devices and just go with your native remote or streaming remote with the DTVS app?

The DTVS remote seems to be the only redeeming quality of the DTVS hardware. If it weren't for the remote, I would most likely just go with my ATV and the DTVS app - or possibly look elsewhere once my 2 year price lock ends and the rates jump sky high.

Are There Ever Updates to the Gemini/Gemini Air Devices?

I am asking this question legitimately and not sarcastically. I've had my Gemini and Gemini devices since November and I have yet to see any updates to them whatsoever. Over that same period, I've seen several updates to the iOS and tvOS apps, but nothing for the native DirecTV Steam devices.

With all of the price increases lately, I'd like to think that SOMETHING software related has been upgraded recently or is in the plans. I was a subscriber to YTTV for 3 years and I recall seeing a lot of software updates and enhancements during that time from, but with DTVS I've seen absolutely ZERO.

Stereo Paired HomePods (Gen. 2) with Corner Setup

I don't have a lot of options here since the LR was designed for a corner TV setup. The room is relatively large and opens up to the kitchen (behind where I am standing) and a formal dining room to the left.

As you can see, I don't have a lot of room to space out the HPs (3' between them). The distance from the left HP to the wall is 5" and the right is 9", so I don't even have the option to equally space the HPs distance from the wall. The bottom of the TV is 45" from the floor and 4" behind the HPs. The ceiling is 9'

The corner is deep so I am afraid it is eating up a lot of the sound waves since they don't have a solid and flat space to bounce off of as they would if placed against a flat wall behind them.

The HPs sound fine, but I feel like I am missing out on that immersive sound bubble that I often hear and read about. Any ideas or suggestions that would make this setup better?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

**UPDATE** - Well, the "too high" comments finally got to me and made me realize that the TV was actually too high regardless of where it is being viewed (LR/kitchen while standing/sitting). With that, I dropped it 6.5" and it now sits 38.5” from the floor. It’s approximately 1/4" above the HomePods. I am much happier with the look of it all now.

Thanks to everyone who scared me straight!

And before anyone says it's not straight or centered with the HomePods or the stand, it's the angle I snapped the photo from. Everything is perfectly level. balanced and proportionate.

Has anyone recently noticed that the audio level for Paramount Plus is significantly lower than all the other apps on ATV when using stereo paired HomePods?

I have verified on another TV with an ATV that the volume stays consistent with Paramount Plus (audio source is a Sony soundbar), so the culprit appears to be the HomePods. I have to turn them up to nearly 75% just to achieve a normal listening volume whereas the other apps have a consistent volume across the board. Not sure what the issue is here.
