I know most of you probably hate felger but he absolutely hit it on the head on why that was a wild overpayment in that trade. Give it a listen on 98.5 today.
2 1’s for a guy who got benched in the playoffs and had already been taken off the powerplay on a bad team with a worse year overall.
Mind you Utah gave up even less than that a year ago to acquire him after peterka had a good year in Buffalo.
Giving up 2 1’s for a distressed asset is the definition of an overpayment. Regardless of using the picks to draft or not , a reasonable and objective fan should see it that way.
Obviously it’s possible he plays well but you don’t pay for a guy for what you think he could be, you pay for what he is.
Honestly feels like they just gave up 2 1’s for a guy who’s similar to Jake debrusk production wise
