looking for advice

this purple phal doesn’t seem to be doing so well. top roots shriveled up, leaves/base yellowing. she’s been near a south eastern facing window and i water her every 5-7 days when her roots turn silvery. she was a gift from costco and came with a green phal, the last picture is the green phals roots and it seems to be doing really well. they have been growing next to each other. any advice on what to do? she’s already lost a leaf about two weeks ago but i wasn’t initially concerned because i figured it was an old leaf. i would be grateful for any tips.

just lowballed lowe’s for this orchid, is it terminal?

i’m like 80% sure this is a terminal spike. i got her for $10. lowe’s actually sucks at taking care of their orchids but i thought this one was too unique to pass up. i didn’t pay attention to where the spike is. can someone confirm/deny my fears?

just want to share my experiences with trupanion

i set my deductible to $100 thinking, “that’s not bad to pay once per year.” wrong, i’ve paid my deductible twice since i got my cat in march. i’ve spent $1,035.09 on my cat since march and they have covered about $230. my cat seems to have pica and keeps eating things that aren’t food. apparently every time he ingests something that’s not food, it’s labeled as a new issue unrelated to the last and i have to pay my deductible again. i also am not able to decrease his deductible. not next year, not ever. not unless i cancel and reenroll but they told me that if i did that, he wouldn’t be covered for ingesting foreign objects because he has a history and if i cancel it’d be preexisting. i had the option to lower his deductible in the first 30 days but at the time i was not aware i would have to pay the deductible so much.

maybe im naive, i thought pet insurance would work like human insurance to an extent. i’m lost on what to do because now his condition will be labeled as preexisting. just something to consider if you’re new to pet insurance like i am.

(edit: changed the wording to say i’m not able to decrease the deductible. i am able to increase the deductible however)

orchid beginner, any tips?

i got these for my birthday. they’re beautiful. how do i keep them alive and happy? i don’t know anything about orchids but i hear horror stories about them being hard to care for. these are in two separate pots inside the ceramic big one. i want them to be an indoor plant.
