During armins sacrifice, Bertholdt wanted to kill armin as quick as possible as a mercy. Wouldn’t it have been quicker to simply crush him? I get Bertholdt still respected him and was also not thinking too hard in the heat of battle, but still.

I bought it at around a third durability, it glitched and fully repaired itself. How?
