Need help reading PTA 3.5

Im reading through the PTA 3.5 handbook, because I want to run a game with my friends and I need help with the origins section.

When it describes the starting pokemon options and specifies "Starter Pokemon," does that mean one of the grass, fire, water, starter pokemon. Or just one that fits into the following parameters?

Is Ali Awada good?

I recently found the Muldoons Log series on YouTube. And when I started to look more into it online, is saw that people were saying he uses AI for his animations and voices.

Is that true? Because im enjoy the vids so far, but I definitely do not want to support AI if I can help myself.
