Watch the Parade together to support Volunteers in Carnaval

Hey guys,

Remember the volunteer recruiting post I made one week back for the Carnaval festival this coming weekend?

Yes, I managed to get 30+ people to sign up for volunteering. And if you haven't made up your mind as to what to do in the Memorial Day long weekend, come to watch the Grand Parade with us together and support the volunteers, as many would join after shifts on Sun.

BTW, I have run by this program with the Carnaval's organizers during the volunteer orientation. Yes, we have their official blessing now :). Here is the meetup to sign up.

So far I have 100+ sign ups from different sources. Usually one third would show up, by our past experience. So enjoy the festival while doing good.

Attend or Volunteer together in Campbell's Boogie Music Festival this weekend

If you haven't decided what to do this coming weekend, you want may to join us in volunteering and social for the 46th Boogie Music Festival, in downtown Campbell.
https://campbellboogie.com/

Something unique for the festival this year is there will be a dedicated DJ stage, and there will also be a Battle of the Bands on Sunday.

People always talk about the difficulty to make connections in the valley, Man Jose, lol. I take Music festival is a great occasion to make friends, especially by volunteering together. So I am organizing a social and volunteering meetup for the festival, tomorrow afternoon.

So far there are about 40+ people signed up, from different sources.

  • The idea is that we will meet around noon time.
  • Do some ice breaking, then some would go do their volunteer shifts, some would stay and enjoy the festival, do some group based activity.
  • There could be an after shift regroup at late afternoon.

No, you don't need to volunteer to attend this festival social, your show up is already a support. For backgrounds, most of the signups are working professionals in the valley.

If you are interested, you can check out the info below. It also contains the link to sign up festival volunteering. The ticket booth tomorrow afternoon still has openings.

Let me know if you got questions. And enjoy the festival.

Volunteer & Social in the coming Carnaval festival & Parade

People have been talking about making friends through volunteering all the time, I thought it out and started organizing volunteering & social in festivals.

Two weeks back, I posted volunteer and then socialize opportunities in the city in May. I then recruited 25+ volunteers to go together in the Carnaval festival this Memorial Day weekend from 2 different meetups.

This week I got contact from Carnaval Festival organizers that they are still looking for volunteers, especially for Block Captains and Greeter teams, preferably by this weekend. So for people that want to go to the festival together and make friends, here are your chances.

You can join one of the meetups to volunteer together with us, or you can join the Festival social we throw on the parade Sun day to socialize and support our volunteers. For the latter we also recruited 30+ people so far, separate from the volunteers.

Here is one of the volunteer meetup:

Here is the volunteer supporting Festival social meetup:

Here is my original post about volunteer & social opportunities in the city in May:

Plus, some background info., I started organizing volunteering and social since last year. You may still find some of my early event posts. And since my social volunteering meetup has grown to 800+ strong. We did the Chinese New Year Parade, St Patricks day Parade, the Japanese Cheery Blossom Festival and the Embarcadero free concert etc. in the city this year, we also volunteered with state parks and many smaller festivals in the valley. Welcome to join us, volunteer and make friends together 😄.
