Any sports bar recommendations for the WC game today?

I am looking to get into MTG with my dad. I played briefly over 10 years ago with a saproling deck one of my friends had made for me, which I think was a standard deck.

I don’t remember much so consider myself and my dad two completely new players. Is commander a good jumping off point for us if we just want to play 1v1?

If so, what two precons should we buy so that we are evenly matched? I do not want to break the bank initially.

Or would we be better off playing with 60 card decks?

I would appreciate any resources/ recommendations that get shared
