[GBR] For what reason you do psychology?

Why do you do psychology, like what is the reason behind it.

To help people? Out of interest, to learn about yourself? Etc.

Lil personal question.. would it be a bad idea to pick psychology due to interest sparked by someone you loved who suffers from mh issues, and wanting to help others who struggle, or would this be an unstable motivation? (This mayy be my reason but I dont want to lose interest/have to switch careers late if it is an unstable reason, as it was a person I need to move on from.)

[GBR] Anyone do a degree in psychology without psychology A level?

Anyone done a degree in clinical psychology without doing a level psychology, how was it for you? To those who did take a level, how was it and do u have any regrets?

Is a level psychology really necessary/helpful for clinical psychology, im still exploring my options and want a wide path study wise. Picking a level psych would narrow it for me and reduce my ideal career options

Why am I am person deterrent?

It seems I have always been a person deterrent. For context I've been known as the quiet, weird and awkward kid most of my life. I always felt out of place and dont fit in. I notice now, that I'm older, that even when I am social, the new people i meet even seem to gravitate to my friends more than me. I don't know if it's something about my appearance, or what. I met a new person and in our first 5 minutes of talking they were quite uninterested with me, though I smiled a lot, talked, asked questions, it constantly happens. When a sports coach or teacher is talking to me and another person, they always focus their eye contact on the other person rather than me. Always. Idk what im doing wrong?

I'd appreciate any advice <3

2 completely opposite paths

I am stuck between pursuing a career as a renewable energy engineer, humanitarian engineer and an art therapist.

For context, I've finished GCSES and going into sixth form (I'm currently 16) my main goal in my future career is to help people, . I have been passionate about art and self-expression through art my whole life, mental health is an important topic for me, especially after some recent events with loved ones going through mental health issues. However, i love maths, problem solving and helping the future and preventing climate change are also majorly important topics for me.

I study in the UK, my current A level options for next year are art, maths, physics and psychology

I am debating between keeping psychology as the 4th subject or switching to further maths, which would enable me a chance of getting into elite universities like cambridge uni for engineering, but by quitting psychology the art therapy path becomes very narrow.

Anyone have any advice, or a similar experience? What did you end up doing? If anyone works in these careers, please tell me about it! Im so indecisive...
