Old statuette scan with Pika (around 1920/1930)

Scanned with PIKA connected PC with cable / blue light mode

3 scans aligned on auto mode

Mesh computed at less than 1m polygons as my PC has curently heating problems

The point cloud still exists, I'll try more polygons as soon as I can

Family project update! 40th family member scanned!

Family project update!

40th family member scanned!

This time it was my grandmother, 97 years old, who has Alzheimer’s. She’s the oldest member of the family and the very first one in the project to be scanned with the Pika. She didn’t really understand what I was doing, so I was counting on the AI reconstruction to help — but with my mother’s assistance, I managed to scan her in just one minute and got a really good result.

Just with the Pika and my phone.

About Pika

Hi, I’ve been using the Pika for over a month now, and not only do I find it practical, efficient, and versatile, but the CrealityScan software keeps getting better and better. I’ve done a lot of portrait scans with the Ferret Pro before trying the Pika, and I sometimes had to spend a lot of time fixing errors or filling in missing information in Blender — depending on lighting conditions or if the model moved.

Now, I wouldn’t say it’s magic, but a large part of that work can be handled automatically in CrealityScan. Sometimes (rarely) you still need to switch to manual mode to guide it through certain operations like alignment, but it’s still easy, and overall the amount of time I save by doing everything directly in the scanning software is incredible.

There were several of us testing it, and the development team was really listening to our feedback to improve things. You’re not obliged to take my word for it, of course. That’s why I want to make it clear that I don’t work for Creality. I’m just a scanning enthusiast they reached out to in order to get direct user feedback.

I’m really happy with this little scanner — it can do a lot!

If you consider buying the Pika, you can pass by that link Creality provided me. That would help me, thanks!

Creality Pika - 3D scan process on PC

A little screenshot video showing my whole process using Creality Pika, connected to PC by USB, to scan TV remote control with blue line laser.

No mattifying spray used.

Some parts are accelerated and the loading/computing screens have been cut off the edit.

This video purpose is to show my process using CrealityScan and a quick final step in Blender a the finished mesh to apply a little smoothing.

New scan with the Pika!

Hi!

This time I used the blue‑light mode.

The Pika was connected to the PC via USB.

I took three or four different scans of the remote control, then used auto‑alignment before generating the mesh.

I did the same for the battery cover.

Once the models were computed, I switched to Blender to smooth the plastic surfaces with a basic tool. That last step took me less than five minutes.

You can find my other test scans and more on the dedicated Facebook group :

News about the Pika !

Hi everyone! I’ve had the chance to try out the new Pika, and I think it’s incredible!

Compared to my Ferret Pro, the smoothness, the tracking, and the overall result quality are all a step above.

The setup is great too! You insert the rechargeable battery (I have two of them, super handy for swapping even in the middle of a scan). There are removable lenses for infrared scanning, which makes it possible to scan even when backlit. You mount it on the mini tripod or a selfie stick, connect it to your phone via the Pika’s built‑in Wi‑Fi, and you’re ready to start scanning!

The processing on the mobile app is already great, but you can transfer your projects to the PC app just by scanning a QR code, which opens up even more possibilities, like aligning multiple scans and accessing more fine tuning settings. There’s also an AI‑assisted texture recalculation option, even though the texture application is already excellent.

I made a video on the Pika Facebook group :

And there is blue light mode too!
