Could I find peace?
Just a little piece
It could be hiding
I’ve been looking
haven’t been finding
I’d like to see with better lighting
Our planet to have a happy ending
Before I’m done with the time I’m spending
Gaia, our mother, desperately needs mending

And remember, I’m not the one with a lifetime of hating y’all
I’m not the one with a lifetime of saying evil shit to you guys
or with a half a lifetime or full lifetime of not wanting anything to do with you (my brother).

I am the one that always wanted to be there.
Carefree to the point of being extremely naïve.
I try not to be anymore kinda like you and dad
you know you and dad
you said it was you and ME for a little while,
but it was because dad was gone,
when he was back beating you up and drinking;
fucking telling me he hated me.

Whatever the fuck every other crazy night we picked dad.
You picked dad every fucking time.
Let’s stop being fucking crazy the next day!
Stop this shit ruining your son!
No, we have to apologize to him or accept his unspoken apologies,
oh because he is sorry you promise. Right?
Whatever the fuck all that shit was.
He’s never said sorry one time,
but he also hasn’t apologized for being a sorry fucking piece of shit.

Worse, can’t bring me down,
No matter what they say,
I can bring me down in every fucking way.
Yes, words can bring you down,
It just depends if the sound is made.
So don’t bring me down
today…

Just now a feeling caught me
Suddenly it felt taut and began to squeeze
Why did I do this!
It’s becoming so hard to breath
No way! It gets worse?
I fear there is no end, soon I will explode or suffocate
Yet my mind lingers on beauty
the finest flavors scents and moments In the world
Still little time I felt waited my walk through a pearly gate
Hold on tight it’s worth the wait
My mantra as the pain dissipates
It ends
my soul finds warmth my vision brightens
He and I, I and him,
selassie I, are one again.
Walking beside my gate willing the light shine in all our friends.

A Devil
A Demon
It grips her, leads her, influences her.
Let in by fear and few flashing lights.
It grips her.
The confusion.
She screams at life so often.
She knows better.
Deep down she’s felt the truth.
She cries when she touches grace,
laments the struggle,
enjoys the brief ruses,
hides the permanent bruises.
 
Most have come for the evil.
Some unknowingly
Drawn in by the shimmer— tricked and lulled into its rhythms.
It is a bright and cheap carousel.
 
Some have come offering care,
some with love,
most for fun,
few with absolution.
 
A soldier nearly lost forever.
Another nephilim offers a hand,
a third, a fourth,
an arm and leg.
His soul, a bargain for a whole.
 
They danced so well together for a moment.
Their steps on earth shook Olympus.
They walked together for the briefest eternity.
Did it scare the gods, the thunder they created?
They may have flown too close to the sun —
their fire for each other burning just as hot.
Their wings melted in the blaze they made.
 
Consumed in the battle for her,
a moment left — a chance at last.
She saw the beauty in their life,
but looking back at the fading lights,
her eyes began to glimmer—
although she tried to resist the urge of a safer life,
knowing it would be darker and never quite as bright.
 
Drops come in fours.
One veiled severed half continues.
The other dies, his life forever in her eyes.
Self-dejected, he lies down where the old fern grows —
complete
 
If there is a beginning, there must be an end.
Polarities seen clearly by the stars —
the chiaroscuro vizard that cuts her face at night.
Yet a nebula’s glory waits in harmony.
May endings and beginnings be one.
 
When one sun sets and he lies where it once grew,
he prays it rises.
Without setting, how could it rise?
It must. It always does.
 
I am whole,
wise only after cracking her shell.
The sun has always risen for her.
And tonight she is beautiful —
the moon is out,
the stars are hiding.
They know they’re no match.
