Nottingham Train station benches

Went through the station the other day and the whole station is filled with some new rounded seating. Have to say I really like it. Lots of people sat around talking to friends. It made a place I normally just pass through feel a fun social space - and no doubt improved the experience for waiting passengers.

Does anyone know where all this new seating came from?

Tom Mallinson appointed Forest Women Head coach

It's an internal move, where he had coached within our academy. I admit it's unclear to me why we've not appointed someone with more experience in Women's football, and why Mallinson is considered a step up on Carly hadn't been doing badly for a debut season in WSL2.

Feels an odd one to me, but will give the man a chance

Brighton's Amex Stadium appears on Interior Design Masters

Wouldn't try posting this normally but it's the off-season and I figure it's a bit of a talking point.

If anyone follows Alan Carr's Interior Design Masters, this weeks episode was based at Brighton's Amex stadium where the designers had to revamp hospitality suites for both Corporate clients and for 3 players (Hinshelwood, Welbeck and Dunk).

Norman Cook makes and appearance, as does Georginio Rutter and Fran Kirby.

We also learnt that one designer is a volunteer coach for Spurs and another is the partner of a Palace fan.

I've got my own views on who should have left this week, but they don't need to go here.

If anyone wants to see the episode it's on BBC iPlayer (series 7, episode 7).

I've attached the finished rooms, although this angle doesn't do all the rooms justice, particularly for the Hinshelwood room.

Even swaps

Not sure where else to share this random reflection, but I find it kind of fun that unlike other seasons we've had an even split of promotions and relegations across the North, South and the Midlands regions. One up and one down for each.

Midlands - Coventry replace Wolves

North - Hull replace Burnley

South - Ipswich replace either West Ham or Spurs.

I acknowledge that properly they aren't the same regions (Burnley's North West and Hull North East, and Ipswich is East Anglia which is nothing like London, and is a bit distinct from the south generally) but found it mildly satisfying. Make of this what you will

Carly Davies: Nottingham Forest Women part company with head coach

Sad times as a Forest fan. Carly got us promoted into WSL2 and many of us saw it as an achievement to get a mid table finish on our first season up
