Hey everyone,

I'm from a Tier 1 college, spent 3 years at a global bank working on backend/payment systems. Decent pay, stable job, but honestly got tired of legacy systems, BAU and how slowly everything moved.

I tried switching internally, couldn't. Started automating my own work using Copilot, MCPs and custom workflows. At one point, building those automations was more interesting than my actual job.

Eventually quit without an offer because I wanted to work on something challenging. Then tore my ACL, which pretty much derailed my job search. Not my smartest few months lol.

Anyway, I've been keeping busy.

Since quitting, I've been spending most of my time contributing to open source and building developer tools. Mostly picking up bugs in codebases I've never worked with, figuring out what's going wrong and getting fixes merged. Also been experimenting quite a bit with AI coding agents. Honestly, this has been more interesting than most of the work I was doing at my previous job.

I enjoy digging into unfamiliar codebases and figuring things out. Don't really care whether it's Java, Go, Python or something I've never worked with.

I'm looking to join an early-stage startup full-time, even as a founding engineer if there's a fit. Not chasing a fancy title. Just want to work with people who genuinely care about what they're building.
