Most replaced by iron clays, and some with the 3d printed upgrade components. Very satisfying decoration on the shelf.
Disclaimer: This is not a scientific review or controlled test. Just sharing my personal experience after using both devices.
I've been using the Mammut Assist since January 2026 and climb regularly every week. Most of my belaying involves a weight difference of around 15–25 kg, although I've occasionally belayed a partner with a 50 kg weight difference.
Recently I had the chance to try the Ohmega for several sessions, so I thought I'd share some experiences.
This is probably what most people are interested in.
As many people already know, the Ohmega is excellent at providing soft catches, and that was my experience as well. The adjustable assistance makes it very easy to dial in a softer catch.
The Mammut Assist also gives very soft catches, and I've never had any complaints about it. However, with a 15–20 kg weight difference, I would say the Ohmega feels slightly softer.
Once the weight difference gets above 20 kg, the Mammut Assist performs just as well in my experience.
Don't get me wrong—the Assist is already very good. I just think the Ohmega has a slight edge in this category.
Personally, I have never experienced either the Mammut Assist or the Ohmega "grabbing" or locking up unexpectedly when the climber is taking rope, as long as sufficient slack is available.
If the system is already running short on slack, both devices can disengage easily, simply feeding a bit more slack.
One area where the Mammut Assist impressed me was larger weight differences.
The Assist's Boost Mode can provide up to 45 kg of assistance. I've used it with approximately a 50 kg weight difference, including several falls, and it caught normally every time.
Obviously this is just one anecdotal experience, but I didn't encounter any problems.
The Ohmega feels excellent during lowering.
Because of its shorter strap, once the climber reaches the ground the device releases almost immediately.
With the Mammut Assist, I've found that after the climber is fully lowered, you often need them to pull about 20 cm more rope, then feed the slack back through the system so the device can completely releases.
It's not a major issue, but the Ohmega is definitely more convenient here.
The Mammut Assist has a full-metal construction and feels very solid.
It is also noticeably heavier than the Ohmega. But there is a issue where the cam inside is slightly scratching the plate, leaving a bit mark with first couple of sessions, but shouldn't be an issue.
The Ohmega is lighter and less bulky, which some climbers may prefer.
This is one of the biggest advantages of the Mammut Assist.
Current pricing (at the time of writing):
Given the performance difference is relatively small, the Assist offers excellent value for money.

Personally, if both devices were the same price, I'd probably give a slight edge to the Ohmega. However, considering the significant price difference, I think the Mammut Assist is one of the best value options currently available.
Here is a video if anyone interested (in Chinese tho, mostly saying the same thing as in the post)
3 years into the board game, time for a new shelf😢

Hi guys, just into the game and using Arkham cards to log the act, after fiinishing the sceneario two and found this issue.
>!We had 6 Elite emenies under the act, but at this point it does not allow me to have any selections. I assume the Servant of Flame is count as an Elite right? because there's only 5 People of Arkham and the Servant of Flame was placed into the game during setup. !<
>!After Resolution 1 is selected, the option for victory display and act is auto selected with False. Is this an app issue or I misunderstand the rules here !<
have anyone seen rope getting burn in gym? using neox for belying and indoor gym only, no sharp edges on the set, somehow the end of rope (lead climbing close to climber side 2-4 meters) getting burned and one section looks very bad. dark on the skin and it touches very solid so is not stained.
