"Humans are animals"
People that argue humans are animals too, appear unintelligent with an inability to understand context. Yes, humans are animals in the sense we are in the kingdom animalia. But "animal" has a few definitions.
Animals and humans are not the same. Vegans need to get that through their heads.
"Their companions grieve their loss."
They really don't, though.
Man sneaks dog into hotel
I saw a video of a man sneaking his big hunting dog into a hotel after being told no dogs were allowed in the rooms. He claimed it was too cold for the dog to stay in the car overnight so he snuck this filthy dog into the room.
If the hotel was labeled dog-free, people booking expect to have a dog free environment. I can only hope the room was cleaned thoroughly. What if someone with an allergy to dogs was placed in that room after?
Judging height differences is weird
I've of seen people make posts hating on couples that have a significant height difference. It's so weird to hate on someone for something they have no control over. 1. I can't control my height. 2. I can't control who I fell in love with and the fact they are much taller than me.
It's so disgusting to see people throw around accusations like "it's just a kink" or "it's lowkey p*dophilia". In the end, it's my relationship and I don't care that mine makes them uncomfortable just because I'm 4'11 dating someone 6'4. But I just think it's odd that something like that bothers people so much.
Service dogs should have an official board
There should be an official board that oversees the training and certification of service animals. Not like any other dog training academy either, I mean the same type of board that would oversee nurses and doctors. I DO NOT mean to say that dogs are the same as human medical staff but they should be held to a similar standard if they are to be treated as living medical equipment as their handlers claim them to be.
None of this "I trained them myself and bought a vest online." I feel like somewhere in the future, unregulated service animals is something people will look back at and say "We seriously allowed that?!"
How do I end it with a therapist?
I am absolutely livid after today's session. Never been angry after a session. You really shouldn't be angry at something your therapist said, I feel they shold be there to help and make you see more clearly. But I am furious. But I'm also as confrontational as a lamb and I have the backbone of one too. I don't know how to tell them they made me so angry and I don't know how to go about ending our patient/doctor relationship.
Feeling frustrated with something my therapist said
I've been ruminating a lot about my dislike for dogs and pets in general, but mainly dogs. I know there are space like this to connect with like-minded people but I wanted to discuss it with someone who I thought could be impartial.
I've been really stressed mostly because I'm in a relationship and my BF loves dogs. He and I adore eachother and I can see us living together someday but I really do not want a dog. I don't like their shedding, drool, or smell.
I brought it up to my therapist today and to my surprise, she seemed to want me to focus on the idea of a compromise in the form of a "hypoallergenic" dog. Specifically an Aussiedoodle. She even told me she knew a recommendation. I was hiding it but I was pretty pissed.
I had just gotten done telling her how dog slobber, breath, and their filth grossed me out. A non-shedder wasn't going to fix that.
An aussiedoodle?? Someone definitely fed her doodle propaganda that they magically had the same coat as a poodle. They do not.
She even went as far as telling me that they were specifically bred for therapy work and were calmer than poodles. Uh huh. Take a high drive Aussie and breed it with a highly intelligent hunting dog. The results are bound to get you a super chill dog...
I told her the very thought of it disgusted me. I'd just (hypothetically) get a poodle. She told me they were more territorial and agressive. Again, I'm thinking she got more doodle propaganda.
I will say that I told her that I was frustrated with dog lovers calling non-dog lovers "red flags" or psychos for not liking dogs. She said it doesn't make you bad person to not like animals. You're not wishing or doing harm on them. You just don't want them in your space.
My therapist is a good therapist and I still trust her a lot. This moment just frustrated me a lot.
