Granulation tissue on my toe

Ive been going to the same podiatrist for ca. 6 months to treat my toe. I think it developed because i cut my nail the wrong way. I now have this brace, so that it grows the correct way. My podiatrist says, the rissue will leave once the corner is growing outside the tissue.

I will travel abroad in the middle of september, and i have another appointment a few days before. I would like the tissue to not burden me anymore till then.

It doesnt hurt when walking barefoot and in comfortable shoes, it doesnt fester, though it does smell bad. I desinfect it daily and leave rivanol on it each night.

So my question: whats the best method to remove it before my trip? Im afraid waiting til september for it to go away on its own is too risky. I saw silver nitrate sticks on amazon, but im afraid the tissue is to big for that to be effective.

Is surgical removal possible? And how long will it heal? Are there any other methods?

Thanks in advance
