Rejoice in guilt

Is it ok to rejoice in guilt?

When I feel guilt for my sin a tiny bit of me feels joy that I have guilt to feel for the sin, it’s almost like a peace. Is that normal or ok?

Rc Sproul and John Gerstner

I just realized that Rc Sproul, towards the end of his life began to talk with the same cadence and flow as John gerstner in his sermons. In the 2010s- Rc got slower and paused more compared to his lectures from the 80s and 90s. I’m going through John Gerstner’s “The parable of the ten virgins” series and it sounds like I’m listening to Rc.

Apathy

I’ve been feeling super apathetic about God, not for him but when doing things that glorify him, I pray and it’s hard to say anything, something good happens, or a prayer get answered and I praise but I feel nothing. I know emotions don’t tell anything like the charismatic theology but he’s my father, by God who saved me, a hater of God for his mere pleasure in doing so. I’ll still do what glorifies him but it feels fake when I don’t enjoy doing it. Sometimes I think like I may be the seed planted in the rocky soil, and it scares the life out of me. Then I think “if that’s the case then all that I’ve done has been in vain” which I know is completely false, because he will work all things for the good of those who love him, even if that means using someone’s false faith to do so. I feel like a dead man wearing cologne. If I should fall for the sake of his glory then I will. But certainly there’s no virtue in a dog willingly going back to his vomit, right? Is it pride that drives this humility?

I always see this line of books on the bookshelves of theology enjoyers. What are they?
