Belly button Infection?

Hi!

I just had my first lap 2 days ago. The rest of my incisions look the same. Slightly purple. My belly button looks different than the rest of the incisions.

There was slight redness thats still there but appears to be fading. The skin is warm but so is the rest of my skin to be honest.

I called the doctor and I’m waiting for them to get back to me.

Can anyone offer any input or experience?

Thanks in advance.

Laparoscopy findings

Hi everyone,

I just had my lap a couple of days ago. However I’m slightly confused about the findings.

The doctor told my caretaker it was stage1-2. I was really excited about this. However my surgery report says stage 4.

They documented removing my appendix and disconnecting my pelvis from my colon. Small microscopic leisons on my ovaries.

It also mentioned an enlarged uterus? Which I’m not sure if that’s related or is an entirely new issue.

Wondering if anyone had any similar experiences. I’m just in limbo now waiting for my follow up.

Laparoscopy and side effects?

Hi I just had my first lap yesterday.

Today upon waking up my vision has been blurry. I can read anything up close, only far away.

I does anyone have this happen to them? I wonder if it’s from the anesthesia.

I was going to give it another day since I’m not even 24 hours post op.

Leukocytes in urine? Lap surgery

Hi!

Newly diagnosed.

I had my first lap coming up.

I had to get some testing done first. I have trace levels of leukocytes in urine. Wondering if this will impact my surgery?

I usually always have that and was told it’s not a concern. Could it be due to my endo?

Clotting disorder and PT/ INR results

Hi everyone!

I am not on any anticoagulation. I have FVL hetero and prothombin II hetero. I have a history of one prior clot provoked via surgery (thats how I found out about these disorders).

I just had some pre surgical testing done for an upcoming procedure and my PT/INR was elevated. I’m not currently on anything.

Does anyone understand the science behind this? I thought my disorder would cause my PT/INR to be low?

I’m supposed to be on heparin during and after surgery and just want to make sure that is okay! Doc seems like it won’t cause bleeding.

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

For starters I’m 32. Three losses. I have blood clotting disorders which I knew about before TTC and just found out I have endo. Booked for surgery soon.

I’ve had my AMH tested three times and it has been all over. Last year it was 3.5, in February it was 4.4. I just got tested last week and it was 2.8. This dropped scared me. Is this meaningful?

Also, my day three labs had slightly elevated fsh. I’m wondering how much of a concern this is. E2 was 32. Fsh was 11.5 and my lh was 11.5. The reference range went up to 10.

I’m just starting to get concerned about my egg count and quality with these results. Also concerned with surgery making these numbers worse.

Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,

I am a “silent” endo patient… until I realized I probably ignored a lot of the symptoms.

I have my lap scheduled due to fertility reasons.

I get left sided flank pain with my period. Is this indicative of endo being on my ureters and or kidney? Would that change my recovery time line?

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

I’m scheduled for a lap approximately 7 days after ovulation.

I was wondering if my period should arrive on time the week after my lap or if the lap impacts hormones? For the record my periods are super regular.

Also, how was the first period? I’m set to return back to work that week and want to be prepared.

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

I’m scheduled for a lap soon.

My receptiva was a 4. Thats how I found out I have endo.

I was wondering what other people’s receptiva scores were and what their endo staging ended up being.

Thanks!

Hi!

Just got diagnosed with endometriosis which is impacting my fertility. Doc recommended a laparoscopy surgery.

Anyone else go through this?

What protocols should I be asking my hematologist and surgeon about?

I’m told the surgery can range from 1-6 hours.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

Truly at a loss. The more I look into surgery, the more I question if it is for me. TW: multiple MCs. All conceived naturally and quickly (luckily)

Is this truly a characteristic of endo? I know there is a lot of debate as to if endo causes trouble getting pregnant vs higher miscarriage rates. Can someone explain?

I’m wondering if the surgery is really what I need to be successful or if this will eventually work out with other medical support (ex progesterone). I’m worried of the risks of surgery on my fertility (since I’m able to conceive just not have a live birth yet)

Any advice or personal experience is appreciated!

Hi!

TW: 3 naturally conceived pregnancies all miscarriages before 6 weeks. Found out I have suspected endo do to a very elevated receptiva score.

I saw an endo specialist. He is recommending the laparoscopy.

What do I need to know for prep and recovery?

  1. Is there bowel prep?

  2. Is the catheter usually out before you awaken?

  3. How long for recovery? Doc told me I’d be back to work in 5 days. I thought that was too soon. For the record, I don’t have a desk job. I walk a lot during the day. What is more realistic?

  4. Once I’m home from surgery, will I need someone home with me? I’m wondering how much I’ll be able to do on my own or if I need someone with me for the recovery period.

  5. Doc is recommending prednisone to TTC? Is anyone familiar with this? My fertility clinic never mentioned this, but the endometriosis specialist suggested it. He said people with endo have high NK cells (I was never tested for that) and that is the reasoning for the steroid.

Thanks in advance!
