Spanish Baroque Composers other than Scarlatti and Soler?

Can anyone recommend Spanish Baroque composers (and one or two of their best works) that are worth listening to?

Edit: Just to reiterate - I'm looking for Spanish composers that composed during the Baroque (not Renaissance or Classical Eras).

What would Ed Miliband be like as Chancellor of the Exchequer?

Obviously "not being in hock to the bond market" Andy Burnham scares me in terms of his lack of understanding as to how financial markets work, but how worried should we be if/when Ed becomes the chancellor? What should we expect?

HVAC unit issue?

I just bought a new home, it passed inspection. However, the AC is blowing out air weakly. I went downstairs and there is condensation all along the plenum and a small hole in the plenum where cold air is seeping out. I'm concerned because there's alot of electrical wiring around and it doesn't seem safe.

I'd be grateful for any advice/insights as to what is going on.

Thanks.

Waiting 10 months for DNI card?

I was born in the US to Peruvian parents and went to the Peruvian consulate last August (2025) and paid for a DNI card. They said average processing takes 3 to 4 months, but it would take a bit longer because I'm older than 18 years old.

How long is it normal to wait for the DNI?

Is Texas A&M sponsoring H-1B visas?

I saw that the governor halted processing of h-1B visas, however I don't see in Texas A&M faculty job hiring postings any mention about not sponsoring visas for foreign workers.

I'd apply, but I'm not sure whether it is worth it/pointless.

Is the UK a failed state?

I keep being told that things are getting better, but crime in my area has exploded, I've been asked to not fly the UK flag for fear of "intimidation", and the only houses I can afford are dilapidated. About a quarter of my son's schoolmates don't speak English. What gives?

Inside one man’s botched deportation: seven flights, two swallowed batteries and a staggering bill for the UK taxpayer

The Guardian really doubling down on its crafted narrative here. From the article, lamenting this visa overstayer's plight:

“I [Omar] liked to be healthy and was very into fitness,” he says. “I met some people at the gym I was going to who gave me all sorts of drugs. I had never taken any drugs before, but they gave me everything – alcohol, cocaine, cannabis, mushrooms.”

One day, he says, while under the influence, he got on the bus and fell asleep. “I took off my pants, but have no recollection of doing this. The CCTV footage shows me leaning against the bus window, sleeping without my pants on. I didn’t approach anyone or touch anyone.”

In July 2017, as a result of that single incident, he pleaded guilty to one count of exposure and one of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child. He was given a nine-month suspended prison sentence and a sexual harm prevention order was issued.

After his conviction, the Home Office initially gave Omar permission to work. He got a job in a car wash and ended up managing it. He met his second wife when she got locked out of her house in his neighbourhood. “I saw her sitting on her front doorstep, she told me what had happened and I tried to help her. We became friends and then started a relationship. We got married in 2021. She is a great person – I love her very much.”

Greens’ Makerfield candidate wants farming to be ‘decolonised’

God the Greens aren't happy with just destroying the cities.

Every single one of them is an insufferable idiot.

Crowborough asylum camp could stay open until 2030, council claims

Must be awful for the townspeople of Crowsborough who have their house values plummet and had no say in the matter. Yeah asylum hotel occupancy is lower, but only because they've been forced into local military barracks.

What types of 4L applications are getting decided as 4C applications?

Over the last 6 months the Home Office has been taking some 4L applications and instead considering them on whether they can be approved under 4C instead.

I have looked at the text of the law, but am still not confident I know which 4L applications would be shoved into 4C applications.

Am I right in thinking that 4C may apply if the following 3 qualifications are satisfied?

  1. The applicant was born before 1983 (so this excludes applicants born from 1983-1987).

  2. The applicant would automatically be a British citizen by birth if their mother could have passed on citizenship the way fathers could (so this excludes children of British by descent parents).

  3. They would have the right to abode in the UK before 1983 (unsure who additionally would be excluded?).

Why don't Greens want immigration detention centers in their areas?

I thought this was the "no borders", mass migration party, but they seem incensed with the idea of having to actually house migrants in their own communities.
