My dad died 6 months ago. My partner said I'm "stuck in the past" and need to "move on."

I (31F) lost my father 6 months ago. I still cry some days. I wear his old sweater. I talk about him. My partner told me I'm "obsessive" and "need to get over it." They said it's "affecting our relationship." I'm not trying to be sad. I just miss him. I don't want to move on. I want to honor him.

Is there a timeline for grief, or is my partner being unfair?

My 17-year-old told me I'm a "bad mom" because I won't buy them a car like their friends have.

I (42F) have a 17-year-old who is furious with me. Most of their friends got cars for their 17th birthday. I said no. We can't afford it. I told them if they want a car, they can get a job and save. They said "all my friends' parents love them enough to buy them a car." That sentence is still echoing in my head.

Am I being too strict, or are they being entitled?

AITAH for telling my husband he needs to choose between me and his mother after she tried to take our daughter to get baptized without our permission?

My husband and I are not religious. We've made this clear to both our families since our daughter was born. She's 4 now. We agreed we want her to decide on religion for herself when she's old enough.

My mother-in-law is devoutly Catholic. She's been pushing baptism since day one. We've said no repeatedly.

Last Saturday, I picked up my daughter early from my MIL's house. When I got there, my daughter was in a white dress. My MIL had her car keys in hand and was heading out the door — to take my daughter to get baptized. She had already called the priest and "arranged everything." She just needed to get her there.

I grabbed my daughter, walked out, and didn't say a word. When my husband came home, I told him: "Your mother just tried to sneak our child into a church to baptize her behind our backs. I'm done. She doesn't see our daughter unsupervised again, and you need to tell her that."

He said I'm overreacting. He said "it's just water and some words" and "it's not a big deal." He wants me to "let it go" to keep the peace. I told him he can either stand with me on this, or he can move back in with his mother.

He says I'm being extreme and punishing his mom for "doing something out of love." But this wasn't love. This was total disrespect. AITAH?
