Ideas for Norman style playthrough?

I love playing as the Normans though I’m getting a bit bored of the ideas I’m currently playing out. So far I’ve done:

-Norman England/France as Hrolfr

-Creating a custom Hauteville character in 867 and forming Sicily

-Forming Mann then adventuring to Antioch to have a small pirate style playthrough raiding the Greeks and Arabs.

-Taking over the ERE as an adventurer and making my own Latin empire.

-Going back to Scandinavia to spread Christianity.

Does anyone else have suggestion for how I can use them further?

Sieges aren’t enjoyable anymore

Playing on console so only just gotten the new update recently and I gotta say the siege mechanic is just stupid now.

The fact that the enemy can retreat after taking having casualties and still keep hold of their wounded troops is ridiculous, especially with the rate of deaths decreasing it means I’m hardly making a dent each battle with only 50-100 actually dying and the rest being back to full health in a few days.

Alongside getting no loot but a bit of denars to tide me over, I get from a gameplay perspective my troops wouldn’t be able to loot the battlefield all that well, but if that’s the case then neither should the wounded troops be able to return. If both camps are just staring across from each other my crossbows could shoot any wounded trying to return back to their camp and/or the people helping them. Would it not be better to take the wounded as prisoners and reduced loot received only for the troops we’ve wounded?

But even then it wouldn’t be anywhere near half as bad if the enemy didn’t retreat after 5 minutes, so far I’ve only had one siege where the enemy never retreated and it was 600 vs 1500. Then every subsequent siege the Aseria run back like cowards after losing their siege equipment. I get that having one set of ladders to go up is dreadful but when I’m getting attacked at a 1:4 ratio they should just send it. I spent 2 hours last night defending Charas and by the end of it the army just left with 400 healthy troops and another 300 wounded.

Is anyone else getting annoyed by this?

Unable to marry off my heir?

I originally arranged a grand wedding between these two before adventuring off to Normandy but that broke off when I won the war and now neither are able to marry anyone at all. Is there any work around for this?
