Shomonkai Founder Kuzuryu (Gharnef): Gharnefs are the ones responsible behind why the main conflict happens and are usually dedicated to the final boss with their cult. Now how does Kuzuryu fit this archetype? Is he the reason the lockdown happened in the first place? Does he start a cult that pledges to the (penultimate) final boss? Yes and yes. For the first point, he kills Jikouku and breaks part of the barrier between the human and demon realm, causing demons to appear and God to force the government to put the lockdown in place to contain them. For the second point, he creates the Shomonkai, a cult where everybody, including himself, pledges allegiance to Belberith, the (penultimate) final boss, so he could defeat God and Humanity wouldn’t suffer any more of His ordeals. Bonus points for sacrificing his daughter, Amane, to Belberith to give her power and (try to) make her loyal to this demon, which is something a few other Gharnefs have done.

Keita (Navarre): Navarres are talented swordsman and majorly lone wolves, rarely sharing their history unless they’re being pushed to talk about it. Keita is a lone wolf who’s a talented boxer and refuses to share personal information about his family life and delinquent background unless he’s pushed to the edge by those he wouldn’t consider to be friends.

Airi and Jungo (Cain and Abel): Most of the time, Cains are serious and hotheaded characters while Abels are soft and calmer characters. Airi is the Cain being the hot tempered one and having red hair, and Jungo is the Abel being the softhearted one and having a shirt with green spots.

Otome, Makoto, and Fumi (Whitewings): The Whitewings are often 3 siblings with the skill to perform the Triangle Attack. While the JP’s trio aren’t related nor can’t (unfortunately) perform the Triangle Attack, their personalities are based on each one of the Whitewings.

Note: the Whitewings are based on age with Palla the oldest, Catria the middle, and Est the youngest. Fumi is the youngest of the JP’s trio, but Makoto’s the oldest and Otome’s the middle of the trio. However, their personalities matter more than their age when analyzing which archetype they are.

Otome (Palla): Palla is the big sister of the trio, being kindhearted and caring, traits that Otome shares as the motherly figure for the JP’s trio and the cast as a whole, especially when it relates to her relationship with Koharu.

Makoto (Catria): Catria is the most serious of the trio being the one with most discipline and dedication to her duties, traits that Makoto shares other than the blue color scheme and also having hidden feelings for the main protagonist (Marth for Catria, Hibiki for Makoto).

Fumi (Est): Est is the youngest and most free spirited of the trio. So free-spirited in fact that it gets her into a lot of trouble. Fumi is the youngest of the JP’s trio and the one with a free spirit in whatever experiments she comes up and so focused on research that gets her into fights with Otome, Makoto, and others such as her test subjects.

Alcor (Gotoh): Gotohs are renowned people, sometimes non-human, and act as Mission Control, guiding the party on their mission including how to defeat certain enemies and knowing the true reason as to why the conflicts happen, while sitting back till their skills are needed. Alcor easily fits this archetype, being a Septentrion and a sword of Polaris and planted the seeds for humanity to expand their potential, giving them language and fire, which created civilizations as a result. Knowing that Polaris will plunge the world into the void, he creates Nicaea as a way for Humanity to fight back and showcase their potential. When he shows up, he vaguely tells the party on how to defeat the 2 Septentriones they’ll encounter (Megrez and Alioth) for them to decipher and find out how to actually defeat them completely. He also tells them the reason as to why the calamity is happening in the first place. 

Makoto (Camus): Camuses are people that though they know their side is wrong, they’ll still die for the sake of loyalty and keeping their honor. Makoto fits this archetype since she decides to help out civilians that are enemies to JP’s or are unnecessary to save by JP’s themselves. Yet, when Yamato announces his ideal World of Meritocracy and his decision to sacrifice those he deem unworthy for it to make it come true and the actions he has made through this calamity, though she finds it to be problematic especially for the weak, she still sides with him. This is because after getting into an accident which caused the end of her synchronized swimming career, JP’s found and recruited her, giving her a new found purpose in life that she thought she wouldn’t have once again. As such, she devotes her entire life to them for this new found life. Whether it’s loyalty (game) or her love for Yamato (anime), betraying them would be biting the hand that fed her this new life and would be dishonorable, choosing death instead of defecting to the Just side when the chance appears.
