McIntosh MA352 Question

What is everyone’s opinion on the McIntosh MA352? Right now I am rocking a nearfield setup with Kef LS50 Metas driven from a Schitt Bifrost 2 -> Schitt Jot 2 (currently auditioning a Freya+) -> Vidar 2 and an SVS 3000 Pro under the desk in the corner.

As I am auditioning the Freya+ I see a used MA352 a few hours away pop up for $4700 with box / receipt in amazing condition and roughly 5 years old. I’ve always lusted over Mac gear so it’s very tempting.

I am positive I am going to get hate for considering the MA352 for my desk, but couple of things to consider.

  1. At the price I think it will hope its resell pretty well so even if I wanna go separates later I think it will resell well.

What is everyone’s opinion on the integrated pre+power amp in general and the possible match to the LS50 Metas? I had always imagine myself getting a Mac setup at some point in my life with separates but this opportunity is sort of pushing me to wanna hop on it. I’m not going to be severely limited with the volume knob am I where I can barely turn it before I blow my speakers and ears out?

Thanks for everyone’s time in reading / considering..

** edit ** it sold before I could get there. I needed to pick it up Sunday and it sold this AM. I’m not upset at the person just sad I missed out. Going to keep looking for a used one. This sub has convinced me that’s what I need to start with!

Electactic HBZB-30N

Stayed with a family member recently and they had this model of nugget ice. I have loved nugget ice for awhile but I knew about the Opal issues and I didn’t want to keep filling up the water reservoir (I know how sucky it is to fill up our Brita in the fridge) so I had always been looking for something that connected straight to the water line.

The ice that came out of this machine was incredible. I even needed to put some in an ice bag for my back and I was shocked how long it lasted in the bag on my back.

So I’m searching this model and really a counter top would be better for our kitchen because I don’t really have a great place to get a water line / drain with the drain being the primary problem.

Are there other models that can be recommended that do straight to the water line? I was reading about the Follett CL100a and while I may splurge for that just wanted to hear about anything else I may have missed.

Last thing - I feel like when I was at this house the above unit was quite loud making ice. They had it in a big pantry and you could shut the door. I unfortunately do not have that same luxury so noise is a consideration.

Is the Follet used really just the best go to? I watched a video and it looked like the ice came out excruciatingly slow. I do like that the above model is a scoop with an extra reservoir.

Glad I found this sub and other ice crunchers!

Newbie Panel Question

I’m looking for panel advice after quickly purchasing the Hooga Ultra360 without researching much. I’m 41 and I’ve had a couple of knee surgeries including an ACL repair in the last year and an Achilles repair a bit before that. I’ve been using a Kineon Move+ on the different injuries but I’m not really regular with it and I feel like it’s annoying to move up and down the knee and leg to hit all the spots.

So, fast forward I am looking for a good panel I can run under my work desk at home to turn on and it be on a short stool and be pointed at my knees easily. I figured the Ultra360 would do the trick and it’s supposed to be delivered tomorrow.

While I was poking around tonight I ran across PlatinumLED and the Biomax and Biomax pro series. I don’t REALLY want to spend the price for a Biomax Pro MIDI + stand but I would really like to lower the time I sit in front of it and have the best outcomes I can. I’m also balding so I’ve been seeing people laying down with these panels pointed at their head for hair regrowth.

Am I just over thinking it and the Ultra360 will work just fine or should I consider returning to get the extra wavelengths the Biomax provides?
