i’ve tried everything for under-extrusion
YALL i’ve tried everything. Please tell me your most obscure solutions to under extrusion. I don’t understand. I’ve been troubleshooting a friend’s printer for weeks. It stops prints part way through randomly. I quickly realized it’s under extrusion. It’s not the filament because i’ve used multiple rolls that work fine in other printers. Over the few weeks I’ve tried all the fixes I can possible think of!
replaced the hotend, replaced the bowden tube and couplings, replaced the extruder gear (i really thought that would be it since there was a divot worn into it), replaced the extruder motor, tried a spacer on the extruder spring which just made it too tight. I’ve recalibrated the esteps and rechecked it several times.
I don’t even see the gear skipping or filament slipping. The only thing I can think of is re uploading the firmware or something? It’s not a file or slicer issue cuz testing the same file on another printer works fine.
ANY AND ALL ADVICE IS WELCOME. besides telling me to throw it out 😑 i know ender 3s suck for being finicky
