Inkscape supports German petition to recognize Open Source volunteers
Recognition of Work on Open-source as Volunteering in Germany

Key points:
👉 In short: the goal is for voluntary work in open-source projects to be officially recognized as volunteering, with the same rights and benefits as other forms of community service.
Recently, I needed to transfer some projects I created in Inkscape to CorelDRAW. I noticed that when I tried to import a simple SVG file made in Inkscape into CorelDRAW, some errors occurred. For example, I once imported a company’s vectorized logo, and in CorelDRAW all the objects I had been working on in Inkscape appeared, but with formatting errors. I ran a few tests, and here’s what I found.
To import into CorelDRAW without issues, you need to convert all text into paths. Then, open your exported PDF file in your browser. After that, select the option to print to PDF. Once you perform this conversion through your browser, the file can be opened in CorelDRAW without problems.
I also tested the opposite direction. I had a project made in CorelDRAW and wanted to see if it would open normally in Inkscape. It worked perfectly—Inkscape opened it without any issues. I don’t know why the problem only happens when going from Inkscape to CorelDRAW. Interestingly, even a PDF exported directly from Inkscape doesn’t open properly in CorelDRAW; it shows an error as if the file were corrupted. In other words, the file must first go through the browser, be converted to PDF there, and only then opened in CorelDRAW.
I hope this experience helps anyone who might be facing the same issue.
I’ve been looking for a way to make my job easier. During my search, I noticed that this function exists. I tried to use it, but nothing happens.
It’s supposed to work like this: when I press the keys 'Ctrl+Alt' or just 'Alt', I should be able to draw a red line that selects the objects it passes through.
Does it work on your PC?
