Wanting to get into embroidery and sewing
I've been thinking about buying a sewing machine for a little while now, i enjoy sewing for hobby, mostly sewing hammocks for my ratties. I've been doing it all by hand, which can be quite time consuming.
Been keeping an eye on marketplace but it can be pretty overwhelming when I don't exactly know what's good and what's not. But now I am thinking I might want to buy a 2 in 1.
Is there a machine that is a decent price that does well in both categories? lol
Or am I better off buying separate machines?
I have never used a sewing machine or even done any type of embroidery so I am very new and would love something user friendly.
Any recommendations/tips are welcome!

(yes she is fine lol)
This may be a silly question but hoping it will save me time and not have to call them Monday if it won't make a difference.
I really don't know much about EI, what to claim and how it works honestly, I just apply and assuming that I would get it. I've only been on it twice both for surgery, this time being on it I'm at a different job that offers Top-Up
So this past Monday was my reporting date(2nd one). I had asked my friend what to do about the Top up, if we claim it or not (she was recently on sick leave and we work at the same place), she said yes.
When I tried to do it online, it wouldn't allow me to claim it and i was scared to get in trouble if i didn't claim it. So I called EI and explained the situation and at first he was confused to what I was trying to say and finally he put me on hold and said he made the changes and etc. I logged in and saw for that week (the week i got the top up paid) I was paid $300 less, assuming this was due to me claiming the top up as income..
Well when i was on the website Friday to see when my next report was due i saw a message about the new program about claiming different incomes and what wouldn't affect the payments.. apparently the top up from your employer isn't supposed to count as an income? from my understanding.
I tried to call them Friday but was disconnected after waiting for 20 mins, tried to call back and they closed before they got to me.
I plan on calling Monday because ??? why was it deducted? am i missing something ?
So my question is, will they pay me that $300 they withheld from me on my last report? Should i waste my time calling them?
So i was diagnosed with PTC in January 2025. I had a right sided hemithyroidectomy in June of 2025 in Toronto. After the surgery i honestly felt fine, no real mood changes or anything that made me feel different.
Fast forward to near the end of 2025, my endo at the time switched me to a more versed endo specializing in thyroids.
During my appointment with him he said that based off the pathology i could either leave the left side in and monitor. But since i was a low-intermediate risk he said if i wanted to get the left side out that he could send a referral to a surgeon closer to me, in London, since i am from Windsor.
I got referred and she told me after her weekly meeting, i did meet the requirements to have a completion.
I was so torn. One part of me wanted to have it all out and not have to worry so much about the other side developing cancer, and also being able to monitor with bloodwork better. The other part did NOT want it out, i didn't want to be on medication the rest of my life, but people kept saying "well lots of people need to take it for life because their thyroid doesn't work anyway".
I got the completion this past March.
I take stimulants for ADHD. Foquest 55mg to be exact, a very potent stimulant. I've been on it for about 7 years, so it's not new. Before my surgery it worked fine, no real side effects that impacted my life.
Now, after my surgery, i have no idea what is going on. It feels like all the side effects are hitting me at once- the insomnia, it's so bad i usually can't fall asleep until like 5am and i NEED to listen to a meditation audio, i take Magnesium and before this i could take 1 pill and my eyes would be heavy in 20mins, now it has no effect. No appetite- this is bad too, i can go allllll day without eating, and once i do eat when im finally hungry, im full after 2 bites. The anxiety and the mood swings, including feeling extremely depressed are driving me crazy. The dry mouth and headaches (although i got these frequently before), the excessive sweating, feeling jittery, the constant thoughts running through my mind- i literally have to pull out my phone every 5 mins to google something. And last but not least the skin/hair/nail picking is really causing me distress. I even gave myself a stye last week, I'm honestly shocked that I haven't given myself sepsis thus far.
At the sesame time i feel like it's not working at all, i can't focus, i get trapped in an activity and im doing it for hourssss, the executive dysfunction also feels like it's full force.
I don't know if it's because my body is metabolizing it differently since my thyroid is gone, if it's interacting with the Synthroid (I do take them 4 hours apart).
My doctor thinks it's because my TSH is 2.5, so it is causing me to have these symptoms. When i had a thyroid my TSH sat between 0.2-0.5, so it being "this high" is definitely affecting me, but to cause all the side effects of my stimulant but also make me feel like it's not working at the same time is frustrating.
Has anyone else who had a thyroidectomy and taking stimulants had this happen?
