Smells like alcohol? Just

Just opened. S2B two weeks ago. Is it contaminated? This is maybe my 7th tub and I have never met this smell or this type of surface before. It looks more like foam than mycellium

Opened too early?

Trying to remove “uncolonized rice”. When I looked at the bog white brick I had it looked perfect but now after breaking it apart I clearly see “rice”. Should I have waited another week? Can I use any of this?

How frequent to check UB?

Is it better to:

A) Check them more frequently?
- Pro: As soon as I identify contam in one of them I can throw it out
- Con: Every time I touch/move them I also increase contam risk, as far as I understand

B) Check them less frequently?
- Pro: Less touching/moving = less risk of contam
- Con: I risk that one is with contam for a longer time = potentially spread contam to others??

When to put into UB?

3 different strains here. I did second transfer 8 days ago. Can I soon try to take a small piece from each of these and put into UB? It’s my first time and I’m eager to reach the next step 🙈 (I did spores to agar around 7 weeks ago and then two transfers during these 7 weeks)
