Husband playing for the first time

So I'm gifting 1 and 2 to him, for us to play together. He's usually into other games like Halo, Gears of War, Fallout, etc. He sees me playing tlou all the time, so he wants to do it with me.

For 2, there's the chronological option. I'm wondering if I should pick that option when we get to it. Tbh I think the game should've been that way, made me feel a lot more for Abby. I really struggled to like her in the normal version. I know people will disagree with me, but that's just my opinion, you don't have to agree.

So do you think it might be better to experience the game the first time, through the chronological order? I can already see him fuming at Jesse's death, and then immediately having to play as her lol

Anyone here playing it that way before, I'm really interested in how it affected their opinions on 2! I enjoyed it a lot more personally, both on a gaming level and on an emotional level.

Bea's Outfit

I immediately thought "wow she actually looks nice for once" (clothing wise), then I realised "uhhh I think that's Honey's style".

Did Honey lend her clothes or something, cos from the back she really looked like Honey? Even her hair, she's started styling it with the same clips Honey uses. I guess they're stepping up the weirdness from her, wonder what else she's going to do...

Love when they use fashion to convey a message! Also, I genuinely love the yellow top Bea was wearing, and I would buy it.

Edit: In Tuesday's episode, just realised she even copied Honey's iconic cute gold heart earrings. Except Bea's are a cheap and tacky version.

Repetitive Storylines Vs. Newer Ones

So we're all sick and tired of these non stop cheating storylines and "who's the dad" pregnancies. However, the Bea storyline was quite a new type of storyline of obsession and identity theft. Yet people don't like it, so I'm curious if it's just because of the execution (people don't like Bea as a character, too rushed imo and unrealistic that people will believe a stranger) or the storyline itself?

They had the opportunity to do a new storyline with Penny being a disabled mother and the challenges/discrimination she could face. Instead they had to make it into another "who's the dad?" storyline.

Months and months ago, there were rumours that Zack would be going down the adult entertainment path, due to the cost of living crisis. Last thing I remember is him being in his overdraft struggling, idk if the writers have just forgotten about him since the wedding now. Tbh I'd prefer that storyline over Vicki and Zack. This is something people can empathise with more. A struggling single, working father, who can't even afford to keep a roof over his and his son's heads. I know they did this sort of storyline for Stacey too, but it's still a newer storyline, compared to the thousands of cheating ones.

We've been loving Kojo, he's brilliant representation for the autistic community, but he's also just a fantastic character and actor. I look forward to the future NEW storylines coming up for him. >!!> I'm going to be so mad if they give Kojo a gf who cheats on him <!!<

I think the Reiss storyline was a bit mixed? Some liked it, some didn't. Though it was kind of similar to Bea with the identity theft, as he took advantage of his position to steal Debbie's money. Hoping Bea doesn't go to the same lengths as him!

The writers have the potential clearly for newer storylines but they keep resorting to the same ones, that no one seems to be liking. But at the same time, people don't always react well to newer storylines, so it's more riskier I guess, with the suggested drop to 3 days a week, I can sort of understand why they'd rather do storylines that have worked and brought them success in the past?

So I'm curious would you rather the writers attempt to try new things like Bea, or repeat things they've already done?

DLA Update

So last week, my son was finally awarded DLA! However, he was given middle rate which I found very surprising. My older son receives middle rate and that's because he has speech delay. I would never think they're on the same level of care, regarding their conditions. Is it worth appealing? Unsure as it's taken me years to get this, so wondering if I should just take it as a win and be relieved it's over, or keep fighting for what my son may be entitled to.

For any UK parents here, can I ask what rate you receive and how old your child is please? Just any info/advice you can give please, I'd appreciate it! Thank you!

Blue Badge Renewal Help Please

So my son's had his badge renewed but I don't really understand the email? Does this mean he won't get a badge sent out until he's turned 3? I used the link in the email to pay £10 for the badge, so does it get ordered for delivery now or only after his birthday? Bit annoying if I have to wait, as they sent out the reminder to make a point of having the new badge in time for when the old one expires.

Ex husband's Names

I get a lot of people after divorcing, will keep their married name. However, what I find weird is situations like Eve and Ivy. Eve has the surname Unwin-Panesar. She's got the name of the man who tried to kill her...

Ivy is named Knight-Mitchell. Why??? George even said in the NICU, he didn't want Mitchell and I don't blame him! Who wants their kid to have another man's name? If I divorce my husband and have another child with someone else, I sure as hell wouldn't be using his name.

Also, the whole thing with George's exes being there at the naming ceremony was so strange.

Edit: Literally first sentence I said I understand someone not changing THEIR OWN NAME. Yet people are commenting about how it'll be weird to answer to something else after years of having their married name. I'm talking about a NEW SPOUSE talking on YOUR EX HUSBAND'S name or your CHILD WITH A DIFFERENT PERSON.

Why did Marlene put Ellie in the military school?

So going through Left Behind again and I find it odd Marlene put Ellie into the hands of the military? I don't expect her to take care of Ellie herself of course, her role as leader of the fireflies is way too dangerous. However, I would think she would've put Ellie with a firefly group, like the Salt Lake City outpost? They had other kids there, Abby and her friends are around Ellie's age and they were teenagers during part 1. Even if the SLC group hadn't formed yet by the time of Ellie's birth, surely there must have been some Fireflies with families and children? I really doubt they were all just people with no familial ties beyond their group.

What makes it worse is that the school is training Ellie to kill Fireflies. Imagine if Ellie just continued in the school and became a soldier, would she end up possibly killing some of Marlene's people or being killed by them? It doesn't make sense to me. There's clearly a lot of distrust in the military (understandably so) and yet Marlene trusted them with her best friend's daughter. Was there a plan to get her out at some point?

Am I missing something? Please let me know and apologies if the question has been asked before!
