3/10 point thoughts

You know what time it is. Time for the 10% update. I’m feeling pretty awesome with that sweep of the Angels (which inspired that post on the MLB sub) and the series win over the Reds. The Twins series was disappointing, but I feel good given we are still 1st in our division and third best record in AL

Down to the details. DeLauter, Rocchio, Angel Martinez, and Schneeman have all been excellent at bat, which has fueled our run imo. Those four plus Jose, Hoskins, and Fry all have 100+ OPS+ which is a great sign. Williams, Messick, Bibee, and Cantillo have 100+ ERA+. Four starters at 100 or higher ERA+ is honestly like a dream, so I’m proud of the starters

Overall happy with room for improvement

A perfect day

I can’t believe this actually happened. I am always nervous on derby day, but we looked so good and pulled out a 2 goal win. Then, Juve get beat by 2 at home by Fiorentina?!? OH MY GOODNESS WE ARE IN THE TOP 4 RIGHT NOW. If we take care of Verona next week we are actually in the UCL. DAJE ROMA

Now that was some top tier basketball.

For most of the season and playoffs, I’ve just wanted this team to look hungry. We looked hungry tonight. We fought. We didn’t look great, but we fought. Down 9 with 2:30 left on the road in game 5 and we could’ve folded. But not this team, we had the fight and grit to get back in it. LET EM **C**** KNOW

Is Mike Trout the most talented player who has wasted their career at a bad ballclub?

I mean, he has 3 AL MVPs and 1 playoff appearance. 11 all stars and 1 90 plus win season. Like how could the Angels be this consistently bad with a generational player like Trout? Does anyone else come to mind with similar personal achievements but similar lack of team success? Maybe Don Matting is a similar player with a similar history, but even he only won one AL MVP compared to Trout’s 3

This is what our team was supposed to look like

If Mitchell starts cold, Harden starts hot. Opposing defense figures out how to stop him, and Spida goes ballistic. Harden still finds a way to get over 10’assists. Jarrett Allen has a couple crazy dunks. Evan Mobley passes well and gets 3 steals and 5 blocks on defense. Strus brings the energy (specifically that 8 second call). Overall offense is primed for crazy runs

This is what the team was designed to play like. We are seeing the vision. Hopefully we will see it again in game 5.

Today in history - May 10, 2015

Today in 2015 we were down 1-2 to the Bulls in the Eastern Conference Semis on the road. Rose had just hit a buzzer beater game 3. A loss here and the season is likely over. Instead, LeBron hits a game winner to silence the Chicago crowd and bring the series home 2-2

Am I dreaming?!

That comeback on the road today to keep our UCL hopes alive. And now Milan getting throttled by Atalanta. Today is a good day

If the Milan-Atalanta result stands, what do we need to make UCL?

We have a chance

Was it pretty - no
Did it look like we would collapse - yes
Did it look like we were clearly the better team - no

But did we win - YES
Let’s use this as momentum. Harden found his shooting touch at the very end of the game. Spida had 35 on 13/24 shooting. Max Strus was so freaking locked in. Jarrett Allen with that one handed dunk was insane.

Let’s use this as momentum, come out loud in game 4, and send it back to Detroit 2-2. The pressure would then be on them. Let’s do this one game at a time

Max Strus

I know this game is frustrating. I’m pissed. But, Max Strus is amazing. He has such high energy and passion. He looks locked in on every possession, offensively and defensively. We need the rest of the squad to play like him

This may become annoying, but every 16 games (10%) of the season seems like a good place to review. We obviously haven’t looked as good. Manzardo, Hoskins, and J Ram need to hit a little better. Kwan is at .231 and feels like he will go up. DeLauter, Rocchio, and Martinez are all .260 and above which gives me a lot of hope bc I feel like Jose and Kwan will both get to .250 or above. Our last 5 losses we averaged allowing 3 runs which is actually pretty good

TLDR, our defense and pitching is good. We have 3 batters hitting really consistently, and none of them are Jose or Kwan. I believe both Jose and Kwan will start hitting well which brings us to 5 good hitters. That plus our defense and pitching makes us a really good team

If anyone was a Serie A fan back in 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons, was it obvious that the refereeing decisions were biased? Or was it a surprise when the news came out? I know people always say that Juve gets calls that go their way, but did people actually believe Serie A was rigged before the news came out?
